Mid-'50's to early '60's. Not sure when the two companies went OOB, but IIRC Enterprise was purchased by Ambroid, and Consolidated just went away. I believe Blue Sky Models kits the WOW...could be wrong...can't keep up with all the cottage industry efforts.
I've seen a nicely built Super Whipsaw not more than 5 years ago...despite the wingspan, it's a small airplane with high A/R and thin wing. Also a short nose, which causes tank problems for big glow engines. A good .15 or .21 diesel would be a nice match for some fun flying...but $5 says a FS ARF would fly better with the same power.
Value depends on where you're trying to sell them. I would expect $25-$55 each at a good swap meet, but I suppose eBay might fetch some stupid numbers. y1 Steve

This is all I have on the Super Whipsaw.

I built Super Whipsaw's back in late 50'5 early60's for combat flying using Fox and K&B motors. They were OK but not what a contest flyer would use. They were fast and better than many flying wings of the time. I liked them better than the Omega #^ The Wow was a take off the Falf Fast another combat flying wing. I built a bunch of Half Fast's over the years.

I built and flew a Super Whipsaw when I was 12-13 (1958-9). Put the only "big" motor I had on it....a McCoy .19. I don't remember how well it flew, but it lasted quite a while, so it must have been pretty sturdy. I do remember that the kit cost $1.95 (a whole month's allowance).

You were well paid, Mr. Redmon! I was getting about $.25 a week, unless I skipped lunch and invested in balsa futures. LL~ Steve

BTW, both had little brothers. never built the Whipsaw (.15) but I had a WOWEE (McCoy .049 diesel).

I never got to build or fly either of those kits. I was busy during the summer working the riding stables at a $1.15 a day, sun up to sun down or when the horses were put to bed. In the late summer and fall picking apples & pears at 35 cents a bushel. Had to pay for my books for high school and usually enough to get several western out fits to wear.

I sell laser cut kits of the Super Whipsaw and the Lil Whipsaw. I had an Ambroid Super Whipsaw in the 60's. With an Enya 29 IV BB it was a rocket.

Ambroid Glue took over Consolidated and reissued some of the better kits, including the Whipsaw and Super Whipsaw. Both were cool designs that didn't pay much heed to fuel tank issues.
Ambroid had better boxes, better decals, and better wood.
Ambroid issued a few original kits which I built, including the Stuka Stunt and Scrapper (combat) which I built. The Scrapper cost $4.95 (the price of a two Voodoos or Combat Cats), which was a deal-breaker for most (maybe all) combat competitors. It also took the labor of four Voodoo to assemble.

Here are what the CAD plans look like for the Super Whipsaw and the Lil Whipsaw.

Here are the original plans ("stitched scans) of one of the few planes I built in the 1960's that still survive. I had a traded-for, slush-bucket McCoy .19 RR racing engine on it, with a balance point ahead of the leading edge. It spit burning fuel on the wings, burning holes and scorching the root. After repairing the holes, I "wisely" neglected to ever fly it, thus not learning the perils of my poorly executed control system. Hence it's survival, with it's original Bill Werwage "Ares" paint scheme, if not quality. I always liked the "Whipsaw".

...so I built this 47 years later.

Serge, you really need to bring that one to VSC-25 (March 19-23), if for no other reason than display of "the way things were".
-
Mike-
I really want to make it to VSC again - 'best time I ever had in modeling. HOWEVER -that poor old Whipsaw is pretty shoddy workmanship. I'd be embarassed to display my youthful "skills".
