It's probably mostly of historical interest. Aside from his rational for choosing the engine, and a history of his planes to (that) date, there's nothing in there that he hasn't said on here on in Stunt News.
I would say if all you had was that article, it would tell you most of what you know to be competitive in stunt, even now. The combination has never been beaten at a Nationals, despite anything we might have learned in the ensuing time. Including as recently as 2005. Brett
My recollection is that FM plans either come with a copy of the article text, or that is/was an affordable option. For the new/current price of the plans, the text should be included, IMO. Is Tim giving judges at Fall Fallies (sic) a hint as to where to look for egregious flaws in his patterns? And blaming Paul for it! Bad Tim, bad! Steve
I'll re-read it.Currently the fault in my pattern is that if I try to do one my shoulder hurts like hell. I'm hoping I get everything straightened out by next spring.
I did however notice that the clipboard and pen did not seem to cause much physical grief
Can someone please tell me what issue of Flying Models has Paul's Impact article? Thanks
A gentleman in Canada is selling the Impact article on Ebay right now in the control line section. I have gotten articles and plans from him before, but the plans are not full size. I think he said 8 pages.
I have it around here someplace. FM is selling the plans, but I think that Paul has made a few wee changes since that plane.
Tim,That design as it is is quite good. The plane you have preceeded it, just barely. In fact, with the tail that is on it, it is quite close to an Impact, except for the fuse side view.
