I've been working on the UHP Imapct ARC the past few days and am
nearing completion. It is really shocking how fast something like
this goes together. Just a few sessions in the garage and the plane
is in one piece. As it sits now with a Discovery Retro 61 mounted
in the nose, with tank and plumbing and landing gear and covered
in clear SLC film it weighs 48.5 oz.
I have to add fillets, the finish and finishing touches and it will be
ready to go.
PLEASE NOTE: The production kits will NOT have SLC film covering,
they will be ARCs.
I am hoping for delivery in the Spring of 2010.

Put me on the list for one!

Steve,
I shame you are not delivering with SLC covering; I think it is a really good finishing method and will also minimize the risk of transport damage.
For me, it would be a selling argument.

Han: I agree with you, but too many people seem freaked out by
trying to work with something they haven't used before. I have
found it to be a very easy product to work with. Also, to be legal
for competition in the USA it has to come with no covering. Having
checked with numerous customers, many more want the Impact
as an ARC than with covering, so that is what I am going to deliver.
I had the prototypedelivered with SLC in order to speed up the
building process.
Thanks, Steve

Be interesting to see how it flies at that low weight.
Looks good.
