Kafin,
I tried to send you a PM, but was unsuccessful.
Here is the video of Igor Burger flying. It is interesting that he flies inverted with his palm down. Orestes Hernandez, another world champion, flies inverted with his palm up.

Seen this several times. I was surprised no one noticed he is flying with cabled handle.

Why is that noticeable? Lots of people use cabled handles.

Many thanks Howard.
I am still at high altitude in a hypnotic coma!!
Absolutely amazing - all those subtle little movements of a master- eye , brain , hand, machine.

Years ago Bob Hunt wrote a piece about posture in flying the pattern....it was terrific.
This video is a great help, especially to novices (old dogs and new tricks).
Some really good flyers are really annemated (Bill Werwage almost dances) and some hardly move (Brett Buck, the last time I saw him).
Thanks for this!

I can't think of anybody else that does it that way. That is catnip to me so I had to try it. It is very natural. More so that the palm up so many use. Maybe I will give it a shot when I get back to getting in shape. Notice he uses that position for all level inverted flight.
Three other things I noticed worthy of mention. His body position in the RWO. He faces the plane all the way through, just never moves his feet till the last 1/2. The other is how he plants his feet before each maneuver then flies the plane to the starting point while his body is not rotating. The last one was his arm position in the OH8. Interesting how little he has to bend. Judging from the lines, he was flying the back half blind.
This is a video worth watching over and over. - ken

I thought FAI rules uses the “new” rule for the clover?
Or maybe allows either way?
Igor is definitely smooth as butter. 👍🏼
Thanks Bob for sharing.

this video was recorded before the clover rule was changed and yes, the new FAI rule allows you to perform the maneuver in both ways, at the discretion of the pilot.

I am not sure what means "cabled" handle. If you mean cable running inside handle, then it is not. It has wire connectors between lines and handle.
And yes, it is old video, now I fly 4L the "new" way 8)
