Title: Igor's logarithmic controls - where can I get one
Post by: Ken Culbertson on September 18, 2020, 04:18:58 PM
I lost my shop and all of the tools I need to make this do-dad.  Does anybody out there know someone who manufactures them?

I believe Igor sells them.
Check out MaxBee on FB.

There's a drawing and some useful photos at http://www.netax.sk/hexoft/stunt/the_max_ii.htm

Here's the drawing extracted from the MaxBee plan:

edit: I also seem to have an image that shows the dimensions.

Bellcrank?
This is shown on the Max Bee plan:

A different version of the plan has the parts separately. Some dimensions are not quite identical.

His E system and props are the world standard
I think he knows what he is doing with his design

A Fred Flintstone Version ;

Pushrod on top of wing , running aft . ( of all things ) . ( O.K. Pivot post in bushes - ' L ' arm over wing - pushrod pin )

Basic theory is the pushrod is horizontal .

A CROSS ARM at hinge . Rotateable . With a bush for each flap arm / horn .

As it proceeds , forward or aft , slides out the horn arm ( wire ) so is effectively further out .

Thus flap motion is quicker around neutral - slower as travel increases .

A bit of precision machineing would help , but brass tubes & wire would be a start .
A pushrod guide , and maybe a laterally split pushrod end , so it dosnt have any sideways motion may be best .

Maybe I can throw a sketch on .  :(

Before we get too far off track, let me rephrase my question:

I lost my shop and all of the tools I need to make this do-dad.  Does anybody out there know someone who manufactures them?

MM first you should take the time to read Igor article on his control system and understand how it works
He also stated that he thinks the elevators are to large. He wants more stab
As Air Ministry stated above Igor controls gives you more flaps in rounds more elevator in squares. A clever solution for flying the pattern
BTW I also have and use Mr. Hunts wings since 1973. Great craftsman

As to your precision foam wing. I will answer this way. A precision tool in the hands of a child is useless lol
I’m looking forward to competing against you in 2021  bring your A game
