This week(6-15-11) Plane a day has a video of a small aircraft that is easy to build and is also take a part. Looks pretty nimble also.

I have seen models at our R/C field almost that big. Sure looks like a big model. And pretty much built like one. Heck Doc, you could build one of those in your new shop.
