For any of you that met Ian Smith from Australia at the Brodak Flyin, here is a video I put on Youtube of him flying in the classic event. This is my first attempt at putting video on Youtube so hopefully it works out.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!!! Thanks Sam for putting that up. I've been watching the pics of Ian with awe.
BTW I've seen Ian fly much better than that... he must have had a touch of the nerves or something.
Also, for your information, you can actually embed Youtube videos in messages on this forum by using the "YouTube" Toolbar button when you post your message then just put the text after the v= between the square brackets eg. ]-K_SkCOQHoc[

Thanks anyway for putting it up... there are quite a few Aussies here that will enjoy that.

Hi, Warren - per your suggestion, I looked up Ian at the Fly-In and we had some interesting dialog. He seems like a fine gentleman and quite enthusiastic about model aviation. #^ #^
I think that he was most impressed by what he saw and I'm sure he will return.
When he does, please try and join him and bring as many fellow flyers as you can. Don't worry about bringing planes as we have plenty to loan and share.
Hope to see you and your C/L associates soon here in the states, y1 y1

Hi Bob,
Ian has a very good reputation here as a Master builder and flier.
If I hadn't recently moved to Port Stephens I would have been there this year. I really wanted to come, but I had an important priority to take care of first. ie finding a new job. As a part of the move from Sydney to Port Stephens I had to resign from my job as Project Manager. As such I have been unemployed/semi-retired for the past 6 months and couldn't justify the expensive flight to the USA.
All that has changed as of yesterday. I have now found a new job and start on Monday, so as of Monday I will start saving for the 2008 Fly-in. I would really like to meet you guys in person and would also like to visit a few other places while there. For example the Kennedy Space Centre.
So fingers crossed you will get to meet me and the family next year. Oh yes and me and my flying family will get to see what flying in the northern hemisphere is like!
Cheers

You rotate in the opposite direction...no, wait, that's cyclones, yeah...

LOL I was going to throw that one in... apparently the water swirls down the drain the opposite way too... I've always wondered what it does at the equator.

Hi Warren,
I saw all of his flights since I was working the Intermediate pits and this was not his best. Unfortunately it's the only one I have. Thanks for the tip on Youtube. I have a couple more I want to post but it just takes sssooo lllooonnnggg to download them.
See you next year??? H^^ H^^ H^^

What engine? PAW .40? Gotta be some kinda diesel, as any self-respecting glow engine wouldn't have the grunt to pull through maneuvers like this plane did following the outside loops! I think . . .

Hi Sam,
Yes they do take a while to upload. That has been my experience also.
I spoke to the Mrs about coming to the USA next year this morning and she is also very keen, so it looks like we have set ourselves a goal. Lets see if we can achive it!
Cheers

I too got to meet Ian. A very jolly fellow. He seems like he would be real fun to have around all the time.
Every time I spoke to him he had something funny to say. LL~ LL~
