Svetlana has her own extensive web site and there is a huge amount of information about her on the internet. She is one hell of a pilot! Definitely worth a look. She discusses the constant problem of getting sponsors and funding for the much reduced national aerobatics team, so it is not just a problem here. Imagine the cost of pursuing something like this in Russia! Anyone interested in aerobatics will enjoy following Svetlana.

Great piloting skills!
I got to watching her hair and Pony Tail indicating negative G's.

Cool Mike! I've been a huge fan of hers for quite some time. My IMAC plane a couple years ago was a sukhoi because she's so awesome!

If she moved to the states, she would be a superstar at air shows. But in Russia, she barely gets to fly. A few years ago she was limited to only 25 hours for practice. She does make those outside snap rolls look too easy, not bad for a mother of two or three young kids.

The gal who taught me to fly also happened to fly competitive aerobatics. She offered to teach me aerobatics in her boyfriends two seat Pitts but I declined because I hate the smell of vomit.
As a side note, she also flew with Ted a time or two when he flew for United.
Ted, Dave, would you guys happen to know how to contact Anna. I believe she still works for United, on the East coast.

Larry,
My first instructor was a woman, back in 1964.
Amazing how far one can progress in GA if you apply yourself.

Hi Larry, Larry. Alas, If you'd asked 10 months ago I'd have had her phone number on the wall of my cubicle at NASA but, when I departed government servitude it was among the things left behind. You're right. She was based back in JFK last time I talked to her...maybe a 757/67 Captain and involved in the ALPA air safety apparatus.
