So did Brett and a couple others. But I guess my post with the meme about how the Wright brothers flew further than Pelosi did the other day was too much, because it vanished pretty quickly.

I'd be proud to have that meme emailed to me, if anybody is so inclined. I assume that was about her planned trip to Afghanistan? HAHAHAHAHA!  LL~ Steve

One hallmark characteristics of leftists is to go running to daddy when something doesn't go their way.  They can call anyone anything for absolutely no reason (like a foreigner fantasizing about putting Trump in prison - for what, pray tell? Every single "bombshell" has quickly proven to be false or an outright fabrication), we don't go off whining to get the thread deleted.

When they get themselves in trouble, or can't keep up - they run off to Bob or another mod to delete the "offensive" comment and the entire thread. They dish it out continually and gratuitiously - attack attack attack, that's the essence of their philosophy - but try to defend yourself or your position, and they have to suppress it as fast as possible. Or rather, get some authority figure to suppress it or make it illegal for them.

It's all part an parcel of PC thought, socialist totalitarianism, etc. - they need some "authority" to force other people to do what they want, and cannot tolerate anything that differs from their leftist screed.

I think they should have just had her pack a rifle, give her a one way ticket and flown her over there and embed her in a unit that looks for and clears IEDs. Let the entitled queen see how the other half lives for a while.
I also think Trump should take a page from her play book. Just build the wall and send Nancy the bill. Then he can tell her, "Well, first we have to build the wall and then we'll know what it costs!", shades of the health care bill where she said, "Well first we have to pass it and then we'll see what's in it."  The wall should have been built and enforced 40 years ago long before things got as far as they are today.

They do run 24/7 nutty conspiracy theories about Trump, call conservatives every insult in the book, and relentlessly attack the founding principles of the Republic, though. Even their hatchet man, Mueller, had to go out out his way to deny their latest outrageous lie, just yesterday.

In my opinion, President Trump screwed up when he told Pelosi she couldn't go on her trip. He should have waited until she was in the war zone and then told her she could not use the plane.

It's open season on conservatives any time, any place, but don't DARE make a joke or say something even SLIGHTLY negative toward the liberal view point or a liberal "leader".

Anyone remember that rodeo clown (that happened to be white) that was ostracized because he made an Obama joke (shortly after Obama became president) during one of his routines? The media whipped it into a frenzy and totally ruined his career as I recall. Yet, it's been nothing but a constant barrage of anti-Trump insults/etc in the name of "humor" all over the media, and where's the outrage from the same one's that were outraged about the rodeo clown's Obama routine? And this is to say nothing about the constant flow of witch-hunting and bombastic "breaking news" on the mainstream media concerning this administration.

ANY body that thinks our media is unbiased is either intentionally blind or has some doogies missing.

Someone deleted that thread completely, or it got lost for some technical reason, because it is gone,  and doesn't show in search results, either.  I am not sure how many people now have mod access, but that's worthing looking into to make sure there is no other issue causing threads to go missing by accident.

The thread disappeared shortly after I noted that "inducing derangement in leftist morons" is not yet a crime. One presumes that someone's precious widdle fewings got hurt.   But of course an antipodal foreigner suggesting that a duly elected American president should be thrown in jail, for the mortal sin of trying to protect his country over others, is in no way offensive or shocking.

I don't hate anyone who looks "different", or has a different skin color.

Neither do conservatives. Liberals tend to infantalize minorities, claim they are victims, and keep them dependent on government handouts. Democrats were the southern slave owners, Democrats formed the KKK as their militant wing, Democrats violently opposed the Civil rights act, passed by Republicans as a matter of principle. Detroit and Chicago (and now Baltimore) have obscene murder rates, and these murders disproportionately involve young black men. Remind us again who runs these places, and what end of the political spectrum they come from.

Who are the ones continually attacking the family unit - leftists, of course. The destruction of minority family structure is certainly a large part of the current problems.

Are there idiots around who think otherwise? Of course, on both sides. What happens when conservatives run across a white supremacist or anti-semite? they are either marginalized, roundly criticized, or tossed out of the group completely. They had a "major white supremeacist national rally" recently - almost no one showed up.

What happens when a black nationalist or anti-semite pops up on the left? Liberals embrace them, and a black nationalist and unabashed anti-semite, say,  Keith Ellison, shows up? Make him the Attorney General of Minnesota and almost elect him the chairman of the DNC.

Poverty rates fell very consistently from WW II to about 1966 - when the left started "helping" minorities with the Great Society. That sort of help, I would think they could to without. Unemployment rates among minorities rose from 2008 to 2017, now two years later, minority unemployment is as low as it has ever been (and the labor participation rate is rapidly recovering - with many jobs remaing open because they can't hire people fast enough). Any idea what changed in 2017?

Quote
I think big corporations and filthy rich people should pay their fair share in taxes.

So does everyone else - but define "fair share". Do you realize we have the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world by a long shot?

Quote
I have empathy for those homeless people I see camping in vacant lots.

So does everybody else. You know where that is the worst - in areas dominated by liberal politicians. San Francisco is the most liberal place in the world oustide of Venezuela - and they have the worst homeless problems. Same with Detroit, now Chicago and Baltimore - all dominated for decades by liberals.

The right's empathy involves giving these people a way out of their cycle. The left loves poor people so much that they create as many as possible.

So, Floyd, you are an intelligent person, and presumably able to evaluate the situation independent of propaganda - any comment on the above?

I have now run this site 12 years and can not still figure out why some things bother some people and some don't. When I am watching TV or listening to the radio and I run across a program I don't like or agree with I turn the station. We have many categories and many threads to choose from. Better yet you can start your own topic you can't do that on TV. So everyone relax and have fun life is too short.

I am retired with no job.  My income is un-earned, but the money keeps rolling in.

I am definitely a Capitalist.

Therefore I ought to be a Republican.

Therefore I ought to be a Republican.

OK, I will explain it a different way. You asserted that if you care about racial equality, the homeless, or equitable taxation, you *must be a liberal*. This says that everyone else - conservatives - *don't* care about those things.

That is *profoundly insulting* to me and almost all conservatives - but you tossed it off like it was axiomatic, without a second thought. And are now shocked or surprised that someone was willing to call you on it. The left is the group hurting these people, for decades now, not conservatives.

We hear this crap  all day long, every day, from every news source, liberal politician, literally every possible source. Someone dares to contradict it - they get the thread deleted, get shouted off the Berkeley campus (home of the "Free Speech" movement) and lumped in with Hitler, all with a laugh. Even "conservative politicians" take this abuse for years/decades and hardly make a peep of protest. They politely disagree, get buried by the press anyway, lose the election with great dignity, lather, rinse, repeat.

That's why there is a Trump, and why so many people (roughly half the electorate) voted for him and still support him. He didn't and still won't take this egregiously insulting and dismissive bullshit lying down, we finally see someone who will fight back. He won the election, and we see the entire left including the press trying to nullify the election. Trump as a person, I don't particularly care for, but for Christ's sake, at least he is willing to call this @#$% for what it is. instead of accepting the lefts outrageous lies and proclaimed moral superiority.

You know what is funny to one person may be an insult to another.  I remember the era of the Polish jokes.  I'm not Polish but I would clam up and give the person a look that I guess showed them I didn't like it.  My Freshman year in high school students that got to school early met in the girls gym.   I thought it strange that the gym had a white section and a section for the rest.   Lost a few 8th grade classmates because I was friend with the kids in the non white section.   The homeless standing or sitting street corners and highway interchanges in town turn me off especially when an employer I worked for and was in the car stopped at a young man that was holding a sign asking for food.  He asked the gentleman if he wanted a job and a room.   He walked off from us and never answered.  Another time  guy was asking for money for food.   We told him to get in and we would take him to a restaurant that was right there.   He turned and walked away.    I now ignore them as best as I can.   I've seen police pick up people and take them to a mission so they have a bite of food, shower and a change of clothes only for them to walk out as soon as they could.

Yes I'm a Trump supporter and wonder why individuals say the wall is not needed and have walls around their property that you need a ladder to get over them.  But, I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked. D>K

Re: I thought it was funny...

You know what is funny to one person may be an insult to another.

Well, yes, but simply tossing off something like above like it was nothing isn't. I know Floyd, he is a decent person, but he thought absolutely nothing about claiming that liberals are the sole source of concern for the plight of people who are having problems, and by extension, the rest of us don't give a damn. That's both the worst form of stereotyping and deeply, profoundly, insulting. And it happens to conservatives all day long from morning to night in just about every possible venue.

I don't hold hatred for anyone, and certainly not undifferentiated large groups sorted by superficial characteristics like skin color or economic success that never caused me a moment's harm. I know that conservatives (as a large heterogenous group) don't generally hate people for those reasons, either.

Liberals don't hold a monopoly on caring about people and wanting to make the world a better place. Where they differ from conservatives is how they think we should go about it.

My assessment - The results of their efforts have been, largely, disastrous, and the more they get their way, the more disastrous it gets. Maybe they do it on purpose to perpetuate the situation, maybe they are just so enamored of their own ideas that they never bother to check the results, maybe they are doing it for social standing. It doesn't matter why all that much, the effects speak for themselves.

For example, 563 people were murdered in Chicago in 2018, a bastion of Democrat Machine politics for 100 years, and political base of Barack Obama. That's bad all by itself, it's obscene that this rate is rocketing up when the rest of the country violent crime rates are falling. What is even more appalling is that 444 of those people were African-American, mostly young men. That's even more disgusting but where is the lefts outrage? At what point will they decide that their current approach (do nothing and scrape up the bodies later, while continuing to egg on race-based violence) isn't working and do something useful? Apparently, never.

So I don't want to hear a damn thing about how liberals care about the downtrodden - when they are creating them in droves with their policies, and want to force everyone, everywhere, to do the same, and the rest of us pay for their catastrophic experiments.
