I participate in one sport. I fly model airplanes. A guy I know, went flying RC by himself, one day. After a few hours, he returned, saying he needed a golf ball retriever to get his airplane down from a tree.
I said: "A golf ball retriever?"
He said: Yes, that's what we used to get golf balls, when we lose them.
I said: "So, golf balls get stuck in trees, too?

Tell your friend to get a bowfishing outfit.

I thought in golf, that you were required to play the ball where it lies??? Their form of the B.O.M.!!

Russell has it figured out. Not sure how he'd know that, but he's correct. Good info.
OBTW, "model airplanes" is not a Sport, but a Hobby...and don't ever call it a Sport again!
I can't recall the reasoning behind this...perhaps related to the BOM aspect, which we don't want to get into (yet again). LL~ Steve

Oh gee Steve, we spend thousands , build, fly and practice as much as we work, plan our lives, vacations and family functions around the contest schedule, suffer the aches and pains of many athletes, do the vitamins, DR appointments and training exercises on an Olympic scale and study every possible facet of the game. Hobby?/ Sport? I'll take 'sport' all day long! LOL!
I use MY golf ball retriever as a retractable wind streamer pole at the flying field- so there!

I was just trying to be funny. Sport, Hobby, I just fly model airplanes. When I go to a contest to compete, it's a sport. But it is still fun, just a hobby! I didn't want to stir up a controversy.

Doug it's all in fun. Don't worry. (Yet)
