I need some help identifying engines
« on: July 18, 2019, 07:21:12 AM »
When I was having my condo built, I stored a around ten large boxes of engines at my brother's house in New Jersey.
That was around 25 years ago. 15 years ago I picked them up.
Recently, Mike contacted telling me I forgot a box.
It contained mostly C.I. (Diesels)
So, here are some photos of the contents.
Photo #1 - mostly identifiable. Webra, A-M, Amco, PAW, MVVS, UKTKAM, Fit, JENA, Jaskolka, Elfin, etc.
Photo #2 - Front intake. No names, no displacement, no country of origin.
Photo #3 - Same as 2 but side and front intake.
Photo #4 - Rear rotor.

Before I donate these to the Brodak Museum, I would like to identify as many as possible.
Any expert engine volunteers?

Bob Z.

There's nothing there of any great value.

Rough Identification.

Photo 2 = I could only positively identify the MVVS 2.5, D7 I suspect.

Photo 4 = early ED Racer 2.5cc (UK) with Mag alloy crankcase, badly corroded.  The other is a poor Soviet era copy of a Webra 2.5cc.

Photo 3 = LHS AMCO 0.87cc (UK), Elfin 1.8cc (UK), maybe MP Jet 1.8cc Czech replica or original,  possibly another MP Jet replica or original, Curry Mills 1.3cc (Indian copy of UK Mills).

Perhaps if you posted on the RCgroups Vintage Diesel page you could get a more accurate appraisal?

At Photo 1# mid left, the blue finned one is originally "FOK-15", (1.5 ccm), renamed for export "Engel-Rebell".
Made in Hungary in mid '60s in many thousand pieces.

Aha!; second pic, center top row, I see the mundane running very, very light, low performance

2.5cc Jaguar. I've had one for years and I test ran it eight times. It's very easy starting and

because it's so light; I'll build a PDQ Circus Prince for it.   D>K

Far from being an expert on diesels but photo #1 near the top with the green head is a Webra Mach1 and at the bottom on the RH side with a red head is an Amco 3.5 PB. The ED Racer as mentioned is a Mk 1 with exhaust stacks removed and the backplate 90 degrees out. I definitely agree with qaz049 to try his link to RCG, there are some real experts there from countries all around the world.

The diesel pointed at with the arrow in the pic below looks very much like an Owen "Mate" 2cc kit engine. This was produced by the late David Owen with a special extrusion for the crankcase to simplify it's machining. Quite a few of these were produced, and they run very well. If this is in good condition it could be quite valuable.

Thanks to all of you for the helpful information.
You've shown some impressive knowledge!
I still have one more box of engines (mostly Diesels) to go through.
When I get to it, I will again solicit your help.

Hi again Robert,  Pic 4 left to right; early ED Racer 2.5cc, Russian Mk 12 2.5cc (Webra Mach 1 copy).
