I need a new scale

Hi everyone.  I need a new scale for weighing my stunt ships.  I need something that is small, inexpensive (around $20?) and weighs in ounces and grams.  Any ideas?

I have the one from Harbor Freight.  I have been using it for about three years and it works very well.  Inexpensive also.

Unfortunately Habour Freight does not ship outside the USA....or at least they didn't a couple of years ago.

  Since you're located in Alta., got to Safeway. I got one that goes to 5 lbs, in .1 ounce increments. The price was just over what you wanted including that anti-Canadian thing called the BC sales tax. Look in the area with the pots and cooking utensils, buried on the bottom shelf.

Walmart has one for just that price, but I don't know about Canada.

I can recommend a good scale.  On eBay look for item # 320500664562.

It is a 35lb scale that reads out to 0.1 ounce or Kg and Grams.

He has them listed about every 30 minutes with a $0.98 starting bid but with a $16.99 shipping charge.  $17.97 is no one bids against you.  I have bought two of them from Just Pounds and Ounces.  It is about 8 x 8 x 3 inch.  I have a 2KG calibration weight that I test my scales with and both were right on.

Clancy; I was wondering about calibration weights, where did you get yours? I have an Office Depot scale (looks just like the Harbor Freight scale but cost twice as much) and would like to test it. When I weight in ounces, and then weigh in Kilograms and then convert to ounces, I get two different answers.

I use a baby scale with sliding weights. Got it at a garage sale for $5.00. I then replaced the "baby basket" with a Styrofoam Robart plane holder! Works great, Pounds and ounces. For a gram scale I use a non mechanical letter scale from a stationery store, weighs up to 4 ounces in gr. and oz. 3-4 bucks!

I bought a 2000 gr (2 KG) Calibration weight for $34.99 plus free shipping from Ezaker,
eBay item # 120417911557.  It is a type M class 2 (+/- 0.015 %) Calibration weight (without certificate).

translated that is 2 KG +/- 0.3 gr.  That equals 4 lb 6.548 oz +/- 0.011 oz.

Check out Canadian Tire.  They always have the Starfrit scales on sale.  I just picked one up just over a month ago and they are regular $30, on sale for $20, and at the right time you can get them for $10.  G'luck.
