Guys,
I am at the point where I need to make the wing tips for a Cardinal. This is going on a foam wing. Anybody have any pictures of how the wing tips are made on the Cardinal? Plans don't show much but an outline.
Thanks
Paul H^^

Hi Paul,
Usually the tips pn fpam wings are carved and hollowed. Follow the plan view for the outline and then carve the shape to the airfoil at the tip. Ronud and shape to suit. After you have sheeted the wing, use two blocks which add up to the thickness you need, tack glue them together, cut out the top view outline and tack them onto the wing. Wrap a couple layers of masking tape around the end of the wing to protect it while you do the rough carving and sanding. Then remove the tape and do the final sanding, carefully. Pop them off and hollow. You can build your tip weight box right in and make provisions for he lead out guide.

Paul: Windy has a tape on foam wings, He shows the wing tip process with making the tip box and adj. lead outs. At least for me it's easier to see it than have someone try to tell me. I can send them tomarrow, just send back when done. PM me your address if interested.

Paul,
I did that type of wingtip for my Fancher Twister, just to see if I could. It came out really well, and wasn't even nearly as difficult as I had expected. I'll post some pics of what I did later today.
