I may have a problem

I recently posted a thread about airplane storage. Well after building all my racks and tidying up the shop I counted 74 airplanes. Here's the breakdown 38 combat planes, 18 1/2A cox plastic RTF planes, Ten .15 to .46 sized profile stunters, 2 dynajet speed models  and 6 rubber free flight planes. This does not include the kit stash or the engine hoard either. That's about right for any CL enthusiast, correct?

I can remember feeling good having one engine and airplane, let alone glue, dope ( never wasted money on clear dope except to cover silkspan) Guys with allot of stuff were referred to as the rich kid down the block. Now as an adult, I have more airplanes and engines than I will ever use. Richard

Yes, Mike, your problem is quite obvious! You are lacking some full fuselage 60 size stunt ships!

I recommend at least 2 on your soon to be built "60 rack", plus one on the bench being built at all times.

"Wins" what? I've never understood that remark.

AFAIC "He who leaves the least" for his/her relatives to deal with "WINS" not having relatives/heirs fighting over the items left behind! A large bank account isn't good either. But easier to divide.
So why am I collecting all these engines and kits? 'L if I know........

   Well you are younger than me, so you may have some time to catch up to me. Ask anyone that has been  in my garage and basement. I also have an extensive magazine, kit and book collection. Then you have to throw in the vintage dirt bike collection! I have sold a few of those off and an airplane or two. I don't know how many Cox RTFs I have but it's probably more than 25 or so. Several duplicates. I have two Cox P-40s WITH the antenna for sale if you know of anyone looking for a Christmas present for that special Cox collector!
    Just wait until Young Sam gets his hands on some of those!

   I forgot to add that all of my RTFs re not just Cox, but include Wen-Mac, Testors,, Gilbert and OK. I have some Aurora "screw together" kits that are left over C/L RTF air frames but no engine. I'll have to assemble those some day and display those. I guess the crown jewel is the Cox TD-1 that is new in box. The Wen-Mac P-38 and teh Cox Curtis Pusher are cool also!

None of my teen age hobby survived my Army career except a McCoy 35 and a couple of Enya 5224 35s
When I retired I got stupid with shop set up and re-acquisition of 1960~1973 memories and fun

18 planes, 75 engines, and $10,000 in tools and building supplies, kit, fuel, and just plane stuff... not to mention a 16 x 24 two story site built barn with heat and AC

Back to your age...I dropped down this rabbit hole three years ago at 57.... you sir, are gong to need a much bigger space at you current pace....grin

   Oh I'm right there with ya Mike! Look around here on the list for the video of me flying my Stuka last year. I have two Shrikes and a Prop rod waiting to get some work done on them and have a weighted pylon just about finished to run them with. Free flight has it's place in there also. I used to fly lots of old time rubber, HLG, .020 Replica, P-30 and pee Wee 30, P-nut scale, and HLG, Penny Plane, No-Cal Scale and P-nut scale indoors also. Still have all that stuff stored away  waiting for me to get it out when time permits. I hope to try and build a replica Curtis Pusher soon. The word on those is that the BabyBee .049 isn't enough power. I think I can make a good enough replica out of coreplast to find out. I won't fly the TD-1, but if I can find a another that need sork andf can be fixed up enough to fly, I'm all over that! We set a record high today of 72 degrees but there was too much going on to get out to fly, but I did make up a set of longer lines for my Sakitumi! I'm still adapting to my day job after working second shift for 20 years but making progress on making better use of more free time! Some new C/L stunt models will get built or finished this winter and spring and on top of my "want to do" list is build a Scientific Skymaster rubber model. I always wanted one as a kid but could never find one, even when I could afford the $3.95! I've had the kits to build but just not enough time.
