I had to go to a school program for my youngest son today. After his program I took advantage of the cool morning and put up a few flights on my early lunch hour.

The last time I flew my SkyRay, we could not get a steady engine run. Arlan noticed that one of my head screws was missing. Arlan gave me a few screws, but they were too big. I had to go all the way to Tammy's hobby shop in Portland Or. with Bill Adair to find the correct head screws.

I got a replacement screw and wanted to test it out this past weekend. But the high winds kept me from flying it.
Today on the first flight I short tanked it just to make sure I got the needle set right and the head screw fixed the engine run problem. It ran and held a steady RPM. Fixed.
It seemed a little light on the lines and was slow. So the next flight I turned the needle two clicks. Was a little better but still the lines drooped going out to the plane. RPM was 10500 with a 2 blade APC 9x5. I was just not happy with the run. I remembered that I had a MA 3 blade that I used in the MSC contest on this plane and did the whole pattern with that setup.
So I pulled off the APC and put on the 3 blade MA. WOW !!! that was the cat’s meow prop for that plane. I did the beginner pattern with it this morning. Not sure why but I did not touch the needle and the RPM’s dropped down to 9800’s. The prop is a 10x7 I think.
Anyway I hate to say it but it flew better then my 52 ounce porker of a Twister.

The Twister will get a make over. Stay tuned.
