I just can’t handle the exhaust fumes!
« on: May 04, 2025, 01:13:29 PM »
We went out today to get a few flights in and also test the Ring Rat.
Our club did a community outreach and someone suggested we also bring some IC planes to make some noise.
I brought a BiSlob and a Streak-Ray. (Fight streak crossed with a SkyRay)
At the end of the session I put up the Streak, after about 5 laps my right eye was burning and watering so bad I had to close it. That plane flys forever on 2oz of fuel.
Now I remember another reason why I went electric.

My wife hates the fumes, and she can smell them from 50 yards up wind in a hurricane.  Electric is a life saver, perhaps literally.

Electrics don't float my boat or turn my crank. If the fumes offend you while flying, you should wait for a 30 mph wind. Maybe move to Nebraska, where the garbage can lids are held down with 30 lb rocks?  VD~ Steve

Oh don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of castor in the morning ( or I use to before I lost my sense of smell and taste due to Covid)

It just burns my eyes or mostly my right eye because it doesn’t dilate maybe. It just burns and waters so bad I have to close it.

It’s been close to a year that I can’t smell or taste correctly. Coffee smells like paint, can’t stand the taste of peanut butter. I can’t tell if the milk has gone bad. And I think I like sardine sandwiches now. 🤣

The milk is bad when it has chunks!
