I *might* versus *I want*
« on: February 25, 2008, 08:34:22 AM »
Anyone notice how these two phrases can be intertwined at times??

Seems if you say *I might want to......* it gets translated to *I want to......*

Yep, was having an email conversation with an overseas goodie supplier about landing gear, hadn't thought I really commeted to the purchase yet. Next thing I know receive an email that the LG was on the way. No harm as I was going to purchase anyway just kinda surprised me that "I might want" turned into a "I want"...

Just so no one gets the wrong impression this particular supplier doesn't have a great grasp of the English language and the slight misunderstanding could have been as much my doing as his. And no I won't ever say who it is.

YES, Marvin. And at McDonald's, to get what you "asked for" may be...well, More than you asked for!
