I just sent the $$$ off to the Laser cutter for the "2 Bits Bipe". I purchased the wood from National Balsa. While on their site, I noticed they now offer Laser Cutting. Now, I have my favorite Laser Cutters, but had to try this service out, after all, it would save me at least one shipping cost as I wouldn't have to have the wood shipped to the cutter.
I'm hoping to have the parts in hand in about a week. I'll let you know how it looks when it gets here.
It's time to clean off the work benches, it's construction season here at my house. #^ y1

Sounds good John. Please keep us posted with lots of build info, should be a very interesting project. Do you have an engine in mind?
-
Thanks, as for engines, I have a Stalker .61, and a Saito .72 on hand. I'm considering a an Rustler-Belko .76, or possibly a PA if I can get one. #^

Great news, I got an e-mail from the laser cutter today. The parts are shipping out today. They should be here around the weekend. #^
I'll clean off the building tables starting today. Ever notice how much stuff seems to accumulate on them when you're not even building anythig? HB~>

Never really noticed, it seems I'm never not building anything. n~

Or, you could just use Gordy's drafting table...?
-
Hi Bill, did you hear the rest of the story? The drafting table is no longer functional for drafting, not because it was once used as a building table, but he came home from a contest, and it had been disassembled to convert the drafting room to another use. Parts were lost, and when he could finally reassemble it, the level was ruined.
Today, it serves to hold several sets of plans that are looked at on occasion. Too bad because it is a great old drafting table. Of course, today, he just has me do the drawings on the computer.

The Laser cut parts arrived yesterday, while I was up at Gordy's flying. A little panic at first, as I've had items go missing when left on the portch, but a bit of looking around, and I found the location where the UPS driver stashed the package.
The parts look very good, and even though I used the bargain grade lightweight balsa, the wood looked better than I expected.
All smaller parts were in seperate plastic bags, based on the various thicknesses of wood. The long parts were taped together for added combined stregnth. All this was packed inside of a decent sized box, and surrounded with shipping peanuts.
I'll post pictures on a new thread I'll start over on the building forum. H^^

So true, I remember starting a Sterling Gaurdian for the early Fox 40 TV. Picked it up on Friday afternoon. The next Friday it was ready to fly. For some reason it takes me a week now to assemble a little 1/2A profile. LL~ LL~
