Most of the high winds have been to the south of Houston. We lost a tree and some branches. The rain is forecast to last for several days.
Regarding Scobee Field, it all depends on how much water falls into the watershed for the reservoir. So far the field is wet but not near under water. That could change though. Don't fret, we'll be ready for the team trials.
The Rockport TX area and CorpusChristi area took the highest winds. This was a good looking storm, a tight eye very defined with beautiful yellow, orange and red spiral rainbands. I just hate it when the storm is all blotchy with no defined center of rotation. Disgraceful.
re: the USS Texas, they towed it to Galveston several years ago for repairs. It sits near the Houston ship channel by the San Jacinto monument. Mostly I think is sits on the bottom. Not in the best of repair, but a beautiful old ship with quite a history.
