Huntersville North Carolina Results & Pictures
« on: October 18, 2008, 08:13:12 PM »
The weather was perfect for the Fall Contest of Metrolina Control Line Society , A little cool for some , but no rain and mostly cloudy to keep you out of the Sun for your flights during  the day. Below are the results of the first day of Competition .Tomorrow is expectud to be Warmer and more Sun than today. But overall a great start to a contest.

Congratulatios to Tom Dixon winner in Profile, Charlie Reeves  winner in OTS and John Simpson winner in Nostalga '79

After the flying today, most of the flyers met at the local Fish Camp (  Seafood Resturant) and then went to eat Homemade Icecream  in the motel room , the fun  never ends at  the MCLS contest .

Update Tomorrow

One of the bummers of the weekend was that Banjock's MiG 15 suffered a Class A mishap due to a broken line.  It can be repaired, but its going to be awhile I suspect!

Good job all! I've been to this contest a few times and it's one of the nicest venue's out there. Sorry I missed it this year... darned work!

Eddy - Nice to see you on the Expert scoreboard again! It's been a while. Good job old man! ;-)

Steve - Looks like your new Nakke is a success! Wish I could have seen it... maybe KOI?

Congrats to Walt (& his intrepid pilot Gene) on a successful debut of the Stiletto 660.

Wish I'd been there...

We had a guest visitor at the contest.  H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, recently retired president of Charlotte Motor Speedway, was seen checking things out for a few hours on Saturday afternoon.

A picture here of Tom Hampshire's Vector based VF 40 powered stunter, and a picture of Hampshire and Alan Buck, probably in the midst of speculating what Banjock would be up to next.....

Portsmouth Virginia's Willis Swindell fuels his Phoebus stunter for the winning Advanced flight.  Phoebus is an inline rig with a side mounted Saito 50, roughly based on a Time Machine 50 sized wing and Avanti plans.  Willis put up a nice flight!

Congratulations to all who attended the Huntersville Fall Contest.  I am sure the meet went off as smoothly as usual.

A big thumbsup to Willis for getting his name on the Ringo Trophy.  I am sure it was special to Willis since he knew Mr. Ringo.  Congrats to Steve Fitton for his 3rd place in a tough field of Experts.  Steve has steadily progressed since I first met him while flying Advanced.

Wish I could have been there!
