Same here, staying at the old Holiday inn.

I believe the rate for people going to the contest is 59.00 a night. Call soon, hotels sometimes raise rates when you reserve close to check in date. Most of the people who go to Huntersville use the Ramada (which used to be the Holiday Inn) Just don't admit you know Gene Martine to the front desk girl or she might charge you extra! LL~

Several of us from the Norfolk Aeromodelers will be down on Friday afternoon.

3 Philly Flyers. (I hope!)

Will,
I will be there as well as Dennis Hastings...I think, staying in the Courtyard across the interstate, have free points to use up. Traveling for work does have some advantages.

I went to the site for RoomSaver magazine and got motels starting at $34 The Super-8 has a coupon for $44.99. On line it is $56. This motel is on Sunset rd not far from the field. I used Room Saver in Colorado a few weeks ago and saved 50% at major hotels. I got the coupons before I left North Carolina.

I typed in Huntersville NC at there site and got the information

I'm bringing some stunt stuff that Rob and I don't need to the Huntersville contest (10/22-23). We're not quitting stunt, just cleaning house. Three kits (Oriental, profile Cardinal, SIG Magnum), some used planes (SV 11, Vector 40, Dixon Time Machine with OS 40FP, Ringmaster with OS 25FP), 4 gal. fuel, bunch of props. Giveway prices, or free to any kid.

Steve,
7 PM Sat Night , plenty of time to get in those late flights ,. Banquet on Sat... We will make everyone aware of the time and have detailed maps for everyone, straight shot from the field, only one exit south down I 77
Bill,
Glad you are making the contest, always a good place to buy and sell stuff , You can set up under the pavilion shelter, we have tables ready
-
Aaron and I am hoping to be there either Friday night or on Saturday. It is an "off" week for my chemo therapy so that won't be a problem as long as family matters allow us to get there.
Bill
-
Bill,
Will be good to see you and Aaron and glad you are on the road to recovery

Weather was great out at the field today , we made some final field prep for the contest, got the circles edges trimmed back to get a better space around the circles for judges , extra long lines etc. . The field and circles have never looked better .

Sonny Williams receives a Original 1954 King Orange International ( KOI) Trophy for his support of the club and the contest over the years , he competed in the KOI in speed in 1954 and held a speed record for years.

I would like to say that it was an excellent contest, you guys and gals put on a top notch event. I really enjoyed the fellowship among all the flyer's and the carrier & combat events brought some extra excitement to the contest. Hats off & extra kudos to the Metrolina Controline Club for putting on a great event. I will be looking forward to returning to Huntersville again for the spring event. H^^ H^^ H^^ y1 #^
Ps. Will, how about posting some more footage of the action, I'm sure there was a lot of stuff we all missed with all the events going on.
Thanks again, Lynn Weedman Vice President X47Flyers
