Huntersville Meet
« on: May 04, 2013, 01:27:24 PM »
I had hoped to be able to at least drive up for one day but it's not to happen.  Ballet recital has Aaron out of commission for the weekend, and the Missus and I are down to one car.........  Joe Nall??

That sounds like life.   Weather has kept me at home from the Polk City Contest in Iowa.   Drizzling rain as I type.   Anyway got to see my Daughter and family in Grain Valley MO that just moved in from Florida.   Maybe I can get one of the grandkids to flying.

Hi Doc,

Yeah, "That's life", but as things get longer in the tooth there is definitely less chances to get to do what we want to do.  In the Grand Scheme of things, that's OK, but it is one less opportunity.  I gave up on the idea of having my name ever engraved on the Walker Trophy some time ago, but I still enjoy the heck out of it.  At least what I can remember of it! LOL!!

The Grandson is actually interested in flying these toys on wires, but got to get him going while he still has some time before girls and cars hit..........  He's more excited about it than Aaron is right now! LOL!!

I hope you get a chance to see the family more now.   Seems they would be closer than they were in FLA. ??

Yeah, it's only 30 miles to their house.   A big school ground area next door and the race track is the opposite direction from where I turn.

I was surprised to find out today, my wife is actually interested in going to the Joe Nall. It's less than an hour from home, so I'll tune up the Shoestring and throw the Baby Streaks in the car too and hopefully get to fly there. I hope they let 1/2A participate, as it's my best freestyle stunt skill set. My favorite Streak has a Tee Dee .051, I hope it's not too loud for Triple Tree. The other has a muffled Big Mig .061 so it should be fine, and the SS has a Thunder Tiger 25. It's nose heavy with the muffler, but if they insist, I'll fly it with some counterweight on the tail. I've never been to a fly in before.
