That rain is good news Eddy.  I was shocked at how low the lake was when I drove in last October.  Maybe the drought is easing up a bit down there.  Grass on the field would be awesome.

Steve  A lot has been seen on TV about the drought in the southeast and how bad it is in the Atlanta area. The Charlotte area is the center of the driest area in the south east last year. We are not as big as Atlanta and we have more rivers and lakes in the surrounding area so the problem has not been as bad on people here. Most of our rain here east of Charlotte has been a slow drizzle and that lets it sink in. It is raining now and I am going to the field on Monday. I haven't flown since our contest last year. If anyone wants to meet me at the field any day before the contest email me and I will send you my cell number and meet you there.

I was at the Huntersville field today and it is in great shape for the contest.NOTE do not drive your car up to the circles or up to the covered building. You will need to carry your things in unless you hear different from one of the club members.

Just to confirm the parking issue at the Huntersville  Flying site, No cars will be allowed to drive up to the Shelter are . We have had alot of construction , grading and reseeding over the winter . The county has spent alot of money making our facility one of the nicest aeromedeling sites in the southeast , and we want to adhere to any  restrictions on automobile traffic .

Any vendor that wishes to bring items for sale will be assisted by the members of Metrolina Control Line Society in getting their merchandise to the shelter area, and we will save the closest parking spaces for vendors  that wish to set up at the entrance to the circles on a first come first serve basis .

For those not familiar with our site the entrance is less than 200 feet from our shelter and right beside our first paved circle

Hope to see you there

I have been to the field [Huntersville] four time since last Thursday and have only seen two other CL flyer's. n~ Perfect weather 70-74 degrees 30% humidity, very light wind drift. Almost perfect weather for flying. Wind was away from the sun.  No one there today so I put up six flights on the old time plane and engine run right on every time. 16+ flight so far and that is almost half of what I did all of last year. Where are you guys?  ???Who is going to be here for the contest? I will miss Friday but hope to fly Saturday and be "The Judge" on Sunday.

For you guys and girls that are coming to Huntersville look at David Nyce's thread under 1/2A about "children home" and bring anything you would like to donate and I will see that it gets to Dave. Look at all those planes he took to the children's home.
