HUNTERSVILLE field

Just to let everyone who uses the Huntersville field that the opening has been delayed till March 1st.I never did believe they would get the repairs done on time. I went by there many times and never saw anyone working . We have has a very mild winter and the driest year on record but they are a month behind.Maybe I can have my new Tempest/40 finished by March and test fly it on the opening day.Tempest/40 is the same size as a Vector/40.

I am curious as to what changes are being made?

Charlie,
    All changes were made to the R/C runway section of the Park . They had a landfill cell failure due to poor water drainage  that caused the runway to have a dip in it . A very large dip that they had addressed a few years back by extending the runway.

None of the permanent Control Line circles were involved in this latest construction , We have two paved and one grass circle .  The  Control Line circles  were repaved and enlarged  a couple years ago .

The facility is really turned out to be a great contest site , with more improvements slated for the future. Next on our agenda will be permanent restrooms , we now have county provided Porta Johns . If the restrooms are approved we will also loose some of the trees around the edge of the field. This will be better for more consistant air ( less turbulence)
