Anybody know what the date will be for the spring Huntersville contest this year?

:  The club sponsored “Spring Contest” is now scheduled for May 3 and 4 with field open for practice on Friday, May 2nd.  The contest Name will be “Carolina Classic” for the spring event. “Carolina Criterium” will remain the name for the fall event.

Have not heard at all..............  I hope there is one, I know the Cobb County Sky Rebels gave up their fall date to Memphis.  A great contest but too far for me to travel on a two day weekend.

  The Huntersville Contest date will be the First weekend in May . May 3 and 4 as Randy reported. Metrolina Control Line Society decided at last month's meeting to change the date earlier than traditionaly held , the first weekend in June .
   The June date caused some scheduling problems for contestants in our area  that attend Brodak's . We needed to get a little more time in between contest dates .

Just sent the sanctions to John Tate (AMA Dist4 CL Contest Coordinator) for our two contests this year. Had notified John about the dates so he reserved them for us.
Had to clear the dates with the local RC Club and Parks & Recreation before making a formal application. We share the field with them except on CL Contest dates when we use the entire facility.

May 3rd & 4th Field open for practice Friday (No RC Flying))
Oct 18th & 19th Field open for practice Friday (No RC Flying))

Events Scheduled for both contest dates:
- Stunt: Basic Flight - Profile - OTS - Nostalgia (Classic dates plus 10 years "1979")
- Scale: F4B (Flying scores only)
- Combat: Speed Limit (75mph)
- AJ 404: 404 Glider flyoff
