My cardiologist told me that he wants to see me walk 2 miles every day...but he doesn't want to see me pumping my arms.
i asked him what the medical reasoning for that is.
He said..."No medical reason, I just think it looks stupid". H^^

Dennis..this reminds me of the 9/11 reporting when they interviewed a structural engineer and he mentioned that  the "stored energy" of the tons of concrete, steel, pipe and bldg contents that crashed to the ground represented not just the weight of those objects but also some of the effort it took to elevate that mass into position.
That's a pretty abstract way of looking at it.
This guy on the ladder...?
If his feet had slipped through the  ladder timed a little bit differently he might have snapped both ankles.

A lot of people do not know this, but those are not his arms and hands.  The kid in the movie did not know how to play a banjo, so a man who did is hidden behind him.  Its this mans arms/hands you see.

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question.

The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped inches from a store window.

For a second everything went quiet in the cab.  Then the driver said, "Look man, don’t ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!"

The passenger apologized and said, "I didn’t realize that a little tap would scare you so much."

The driver replied, "Sorry, it’s not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver – I’ve been driving a hearse for the last 25 years."

I worked nights at Clarence E Hancock Field in Syracuse in late 63 and 64.  We had a pilot come in with a charter around one AM who was very distraught and shaking.  I asked him what was wrong and he explained that he was transporting a corpse, and during an extremely rough stretch of air, he hit some really nasty "bumps" and the corpse would grunt, and even groaned once during a very long bump!  He was so shook he just took off and left the unloading to us! LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~
The mortician cracked up when we told him said it wasn't all that unusual, that the air passages were still intact.
I would love to meet Bob again and remind him of that! VD~ VD~

Back in the mid 1970's, I had a friend who was a military policeman at Hickham AFB, Honolulu, HI. He'd been around crime scenes with death involved. :X During a discussion with friends, he mentioned that in moving the bodies, >:D they would occasionally gasp, grunt and groan. After mentioning that we never discussed it again. n~

Dad told me stories of when he was a lad that the deceased would be in the house of a family member.  He said a young man volunteered to sit and watch that nobody bothered the person that was laying in living room waiting to be buried.  He was on the porch when he heard some thing.   Walked into the living room and the person was sitting upright.  He stated this was before they embalmed people  and usually the muscles would contract.  Didn't say where they found the young man as the body was still in the box sitting upright and nobody around. From: http://dailyheadline.com/she-was-buying-her-grandson-a-gift-but-never-expected-the-cashier

A woman goes into Cabela’s to buy a rod and reel for her grandson’s birthday. She doesn’t know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter.

The clerk was standing behind the counter wearing dark glasses. She says to him, “Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this Rod and reel?” He says, “Ma’am, I’m completely blind; but if you’ll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes.”

She doesn’t believe him but drops it on the counter anyway...... He says, “That’s a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. test line. It’s a good all-around combination, and it’s on sale this week for only $20.00.”

She says, “It’s amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I’ll take it!” As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. “Oh, that sounds like a Master Card,” he says.

She bends down to pick it up and accidentally farts. At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes......there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was her who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn’t know that she was the only person around?

The man rings up the sale and says, “That’ll be $34.50 please.” The woman is totally confused by this and asks, “Didn’t you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50?”

He replies, “Yes, ma’am. The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00, and the Catfish Bait is $3.50.”

She paid it and left without saying a word.
