Huge score!!
« on: September 29, 2017, 11:24:02 PM »
Saw an ad on Craigslist yesterday. Guy was selling a flight box with a lot of bits and pieces, parts, tools, etc, in it. Including a goodly number of brand new glow plugs. Got it all for $40.  Turns out there were 29 brand new, still in the package, K&B glow plugs!!!  They are all a long #4520 with a thin arched idler bar.
Everything else was just icing on the cake.

Gary...I also have lucked into some great deals....mostly last days of swap meets....around here, almost always RC oriented

Got something like 5~6 Cox TeeDee engines one time--- because I wanted the guy's TeeDee 15 for $25... but only had a $20 in my pocket...In desperation he agreed..and then as an after thought, just took my $20 and gave me the entire box of Cox engines

Another time I offered $35 for a Giant 82" wing span Douglas DC-3 Top Flight kit.  Price was $75.  The next day Sunday I sauntered by the table...the guy recognized me and asked if my $35 offer was still good... I pulled out me wallet and gave him $40 for the kit.... an easy 10~12 Lbs of very good usable Balsa and ply wood inside

In the last 5 years, some one local just saw me flying a model... The next weekend he came up a gave me a box of old engines from the garage... free.... mostly crap...but a few jewels like NIP Cox TeeDee .020 or a pristine McCoy Red head .35 ...also a few junk Fox 35s   that got traded away to some one more willing to rebuild them than me

Now all I need to do is find "That Guy" with a full card of ThunderBolt RC longs or K&B -1Ls fer cheap!
