Merry Christmas Bill!!!

Same to you, and yours, Ray!  I enjoyed our phone call the other day.  When the global warming returns, we will burn some nitro up at Hobby Park (or somewhere! LOL!!)

Merry Christmas!

You really mean what you said?  Living on a farm, Dad said Saturday was clean up day.  Take a bath and change clothes for Sunday Church.  Actually before we took Mom to town on Saturday for weekly shopping trip.  Moving back to the city it was hard to not drag in the old galvanized tub and heat water on the stove.  I mean the tub was now built in.  Put a plug in the hole and turn the handle that had the letter H on it.  Then when too hot turn the other handle with the letter C until water was just right.  What was great was you didn't have to carry the water out to empty the tub.  Now a days if you don't shower every day they look at you funny.

Bill.
Too much info.
But that burnt castor oil smell is hard to get out of your clothes.
Merry Christmas Bill and to your whole crew.

I forgot to change into my old jeans to do some engine running. I can still tell which jeans they were by using just my nose.

Wow! and someone said...One picture is worth a million words...and after reading this post of yours...

My twin sister and I...(rejects from the Ozarks) hatched waaay back in 39 then knew  what that was all about.
(Check out the hand pump that was over our water well cystern' that we had to hand crank to bring buckets of water into the house so that we could warm it up enough over the wood stoked kitchen stove for our bath tub that we would set up in the next room by the pot bellied coal fired stove.
I remember my grandfather would take out the STILL HOT EMBERS from below that dining room  stove, quickly take them  outdoors in the winter and place them in the back chicken coup' to keep them old hens and roosters from freezing during the cold winter daze days.

(We had a neighbor who's son flew airplanes off a carrier deck during the war. Our next door neighbor (Mr. East) gave me a pair of aviator hat and goggles to match my Navy Pea' coat that I had just received for my Christmas present from Santa.

Hi Guys,

John Tate: Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Doc, Don:  I have been there and done that.  Took a bath on Saturday, usually out in the yard in a wash tub when it wasn't TOO cold.  ;D  Yeah some of what I wrote in the first post is "true". y1 LL~

Merry Christmas!
