Last year I felt helpless as Howard searched the canopies, trash cans, for an empty fuel can in which to mix fuel.
Don't worry about a thing, Howard, I've got you covered this year, bringing at least two empty gallon cans. You can mix to your heart's content!

Dale,
Word is that Howard is using batteries this year... at least for stunt.

Don't really see electric combat anytime soon, but then, with those guys you never know.

Mid-airs could be pretty interesting. Some fire hazard if the battery pack is hit real hard? Probably cheaper, however. The chance for good matches would be much better, with very few being won on "air time". The battery packs and electronics would need to be controlled to keep the smoke in the wires, because some would no doubt push their motors like in the old days of slotcars. Standard stuff that would give 100 mph with streamer would be pretty cool. The battery pack would fit easily in the same space as the current bladder tube, and an instant shutoff for breakaways should be really easy. With little noise, "FAST" could be flown in many sites where it's just out of the question now. The only 2 negatives I see: 1) Electric motors don't seem to survive crashes very well and 1) manufacturers are continually changing their product lineup and deleting stuff that we've designed our planes (or rules) around. I'd like to see electric combat happen, tho. :-[ Steve

Electric stunt and combat are departing too much from the traditional. If you really want to go gangbusters and leave the past behind, here is an idea. DYNA JET COMBAT would beat ELECTRIC COMBAT all to heck.........just think, you could burn off your opponent's streamer...ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! y1 D>K H^^
