I'm not sure. LOL Remove tag maybe. I have never subscribed to a thread and I don't see a button to do so.

Not so sure what that means.  The moderator can delete.  You can delete your own post by going to "edit".  Delete the text and re-post.  It will be blank.

When you create a thread, or respond to a thread, you are automatically subscribed to it. From that point forward, when you click on " show new replies to your posts " that thread will be listed, if it has new replies.  Comprehendo?  ~^

Scroll to the bottom of a thread, you will see a "Notify" button, hit it once, it will add notification of posts, hit it again, and it removes your notification of that thread. You have to be logged in of course to see it and hit it.
Easy peasy.
