How to regain post of tying a knot in fishing line?
« on: July 30, 2017, 08:17:12 AM »
      Hello:

Earlier today, I read a post showing how to tie the new double loop in spectra lines.  I think that it was a done by a chap named Stinson.  It seem to have had it vanish from the Stunthanger web page.  How may I recover this post? Perhaps it was taken down.

                                                                                                                            Tia,

                                                                                                                            Frank McCune

It's a video by Michael Stinson in the combat section.

Still the only legal knot is the uni knot.  And after re-read it, it is uni on a bight or a double uni, which totally suck to tie.

In the video it suggest the knot in the video is legal.  It is not legal.

The knot in the video may pass pull tests it may be wonderful, but if there is a problem the AMA can back out.  Do you want that?

The rule dos not say any knot that passes pull tests, or any knot that can demonstrate 80% or line strength. Rightly or wrongly, it says the uni knot is the only one in compliance.

The word shall means something very specific technical writing.  It is not a recommendation or suggestion.

Someone needs to get some good data to the AMA on alternate knots, and get the rules changed.

You really identified me! Are you a psychiatrist. psychologist or just psychic?  Am I that transparent! Lol

We have a real psychiatrist in our club and one thing that I have learned, do not talk to him.  He may give you his card! Lol
