Title: How to make do when you spray the wrong colour....
Post by: Wynn Robins on October 30, 2011, 06:36:33 PM
this is NOT the intended colour scheme for this plane - however - I managed to change things around to make them suit the dark grey I sprayed onthe tips and the like - obvioulsy a bit more to go - but reckon  it might come up alright once finished...

Hey that will work.
It almost looks like mine. Wonder how that happened?
Maybe you gave me the idea?

Hi Wynn.  Just a suggestion but a few gold stars trimmed in white would look cool in the dark gray areas.  Five small ones or three big ones. Gold, not silver. That dark background would make them snap out, especially with a tiny white border around them.  H^^

funny that Ty - the original design was to have light lue tips with 1 big white "stretched" star on each tip.......you might be right on the gold ones......

Yeah Paul - I know.....but it just happened......

I take it that the gray went on last, so you couldn't just call it "unique primer" and start over?

At any rate, putting something of visual interest in there to break up the big expanse of gray, whether it's stars or something less common (perhaps a decal of some sort), would be a good idea.

grey went on first - I back mask everything....I sprayed it and realisd it was too dark. so changed the other colours instead of sanding any more

Are they laquer-based, then?

Are they at all fuel proof?
