Brodak 2007 - What is the schedule?
« on: January 03, 2007, 11:39:52 AM »
I might be attending Brodak's this year. I am not sure I can stay up there all week. I know it may not be set in stone just yet but what is the way the schedule plays out?

Something like:

Day 1
Carrier
Rat Racing

Day 2
Classic
OTS

Day 3
PAMPA Stunt

This will help me plan my stay. And anyone know of a place to stay this will not blow my milk money?
I know it is best to get there early and stay late, but not sure my liberty pass will last that long. mw~
Thanks
Paul

Paul - for the exact schedule, you must contact Brodak.
I'm not sure it has been finalized for 2007.

Regarding places to stay, most people stay at the Econo-Lodge or Comfort Inn, in Waynesburg.

However, a motel has recently reopened in Masontown, PA (less than 10 minutes away) that may be more reasonable than the two mentioned above. It's called the Varsity - get the number from information.

If you're into camping, there are a number of campsites nearby.

If you have an RV or camp trailer, you can park in the lot across the street. No hook-ups.

The event starts the Tuesday before Father's day and ends on Saturday.

The base entry fee (check on the fee) covers one event and an all-you-can-eat/drink buffet dinner.

There are a number of restaurants nearby and food is avaliable right at the field.

Brodak should have the finalized info out soon.

The Brodak Fly-In is probably the biggest and most well run C/L event on the planet.

Depending on your preference, you can enter Scale (a number of classes), Carrier, Combat, Clown Race and Foxberg Race.
For stunt, there is AMA, OTS, Classic and profile, each with four skill classes.

There are special events just for fun, like Ladies flight, Junkyard wars and a few surprises we're cooking up.

We play every night with different fun things. Night C/L flying and fun with R/C park flyers, R/C helicopters, and whatever else you can think up.

You won't be disappointed.

H Paul,

Whenever I have been there, Classic has been on one day and PAMPA on the next.  Friday and Saturday, respectively.  But, contact Brodak's, or John directly.  They will definitely know first! **)

Bill...
I believe that Classic has flown both rounds on a single day, and that PA is split into two days because of the size of the field...I believe that PA will be Friday and Saturday, Classic Thursday, OTS Wednesday and Profile Tuesday...just a hunch.....

Combat is usually on Friday. Carrier is Wed or Thursday. They changed things around a little since they went to a Tuesday thru Satuday format. We usually stay in Uniontown which is on the east side of the river about 30 min from the field. It's a much bigger town than Masontown, and Waynesburg as well, with more and better places to eat. Turn it into a vacation and bring your wife. There are lots of things to do and see within an hours drive. I took my girlfriend 3 years ago and she's been back every year since then. If you've got a camper there is a place where you can camp across the street from the flying fields. No hook ups or electricity though.
