I have a set of very old Duro Decals that I wish to use.
I gave soaked a sample in warm water for over an hour and it still won't release from the backing paper.
Any suggestions?
I usually make my own decals, but printers don’t print a gold color or anything close.
I have also searched custom decal makers online and cannot find anyone who can print a gold color.

Add some Dove soap. It is a surfactant and waill soak thru best.

Jim,
Given the size of the letters, I suggest you paint them. Paint a broad gold background then apply a frisket mask of the letters. Spray the color, remove the frisket, then outline the letters using a large-size Rapidograph pen, Rapidograph black ink and a straightedge raised off the surface with cork backing or layers of masking tape, so the ink doesn't wick under it. You may need to use a little drafting powder just as when you apply ink lines. If you goof, Rapidograph ink is easy to remove with alcohol. Overspray with a clear coat to fix the ink into the finish. That's how I painted the AMA and my number on my T-Bird wing.

The problem with some "gold" dopes is that they turn green after a few years of exposure to the sun. Why not try gold leaf and then follow Mark's inking directions?

Yeah, my Goldfish is getting sorta darker and a bit splotchy. It used to be bright and shiny gold.

One is pre applied to de brittalise the thing , another goes onto the surface to get it glued , smothed down from center - over the rivets & panel lines , then ' top coat ' -
First coats thin & dry , so it dosnt melt .
