Title: How I used Gorilla Glue this week.(Mod I)
Post by: Phil Coopy on October 28, 2008, 10:01:07 AM
Joyce and I bought motorhome this summer and it wasn't long before we saw the need for a dingy(sp?) car to bring along on trips. So I traded a 1/3 scale Spacewalker and some money to a friend for a cute little GEO Tracker already set up for towing. Not to be paying on too many insurance policies at once, I got rid of my old Chrysler Town & Country van, and that left me with nothing to haul planes to the field.  I had an old 4X8 trailer rotting away behind the house, just waiting to be scrapped or refurbished. So with some plywood, Gorilla Glue, and instructions from the internet on how to build a teardrop trailer, here is what I came up with.

Phil - That is fantastic!  I remember you talking about it with me a couple weeks ago. Are ya gonna have it at the TBFL contest this weekend?

Great job!   FlySafe!  Larry (Larrys4227)

Paul: I found general instructions on how to build a teardrop trailer on  http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_To_Build_A_Teardrop_Trailer
and I just adapted it to my needs. I was just lucky to have one of the trailer frames from Harbor Freight that is shown in the instructions.

Richard: I used MIN WAX HELMSMAN SPAR EURETHANE because of its advertized UV protection.

The one pictured is as it was right after I put the box on it, but years later after standing in the sun and rain in Florida with little attention, it was pretty rotted out.
