Houston TX CL dates Wanted

While the Houston, TX area has been repported as a "CL Hotbed", the "Hotbedders" are very well keeping it a secret. 
If someone will inform me about the Ringmaster Roundup, and the usual Spring CL Contest, I would be very appreciative. (No monies, just good will  ) The events are not on the District VIII website, Events section. Bill Lee, the CL Contest Coordinator, has not answered my email requesting information.

Are they happening this year? I did get a note on the AMA forum that the Roundup is happening but there is no sanction yet. So here is my "Blast" because there are many other events here to plan for and one never knows when Speckled-Trout and Redfish fever just might enter the activity scene. 

Anyone with any knowledge about these annual events?

Hoss, it's no secret that most contests--particularly the locations of contests--are kept secret.  Helped by satellite reconnaissance and aerial photography, we have been finding them out.  The PAMPA Web site has an up-to-date, comprehensive list of North American (at least) stunt contests. To see it, go to http://www.control-line.org/ , then Resources/Documents/2012 PAMPA Contest Calendar. The URL may change when the calendar gets revised, so use the menu to find the latest version.  For contests other than stunt, you might try Wikileaks.

Just a note for clarification, Horace, since you may not be aware of how the system works.

1) All events that have had the sanction approved by the Contest Coordinator are on the District VIII website as soon as (meaning: within milliseconds) the sanction is approved by the CC, and long before the information is available via AMA. If it's not on the D-8 website, it hasn't been approved by the CC! Simple as that.

2)The sanction application for the Ringmaster Roundup was received 3/22 but was so full of errors that I sent it back to the CD for correction (3/23). As of this date 3/29 it has not yet been returned to me.

3)The sanction application for "Memorial Day Controlline Contest" arrived in today's mail (3/29) and will be processed later today.

4)You have NOT sent me any e-mail asking for information.Correction: I have NOT received any e-mail from you asking for information.

Yes, Bill, I am well aware of the system, and how it works as well as HOW IT DOES NOT WORK. HOWEVER I cannot force lazy CDs to send you the applications. It is a sad thing when CDs don't send the applications WELL IN ADVANCE SO THE INFORMATION GOES ON AMA'S MODEL AVIATION as well as A LOCAL DISTRICT WEB SITE.)

Not your fault they are so late. Guess they don't want and/or need advertisements.

Ah, yes, AOL, the world's largest make-believe ISP.

As your AOL logs show sent, my incoming logs show nothing received. Perhaps lost in a junk mail/spam filter somewhere. (As you can see, I corrected my original post to indicate nothing received, a more factual statement.)

Modified to add: If I HAD seen your e-mail that early in February, my response would have been: "Nothing known." since at that time, no sanctions had been received, and no dates other than the semi-traditional Memorial Day weekend contest could have been speculated. Far better for you to contact the local Houston movers-and-shakers in the CL community for better information.

It took some time and I stepped on a few rattlesnakes,   but I found what I wanted. Yes I belong to PAMPA. Have for some years.
Actually I was a charter member, or right at it, of PAMPA way back before dirt. Been in and out several times but I have been back for a few years. I just never had the opportunities to be around the NATs Crowd.

Also I get into too many things to get specialized. Heck, someone has to be last place so I do my part to keep others from being last!

It's me who was late in getting things together for this year's contest.  Too much other stuff happening this year it seems and I just didn't get it going as early as usual  ........

 ......but ..... Yes we will have a full controlline contest on Memorial Day weekend this year ......... the week before , Dee will host the Ringmaster roundup ...... two weekends back to back ...... lots of controlline at Scobee,  we're there almost every Sunday morning flying stunt and the combat guys show up about noon, come on out.
