I have given Walter Umland exclusive permission to make Hobo kits. I can no longer make them. It will be about 8 weeks before Walter can work up pricing. I will be sending him the cutting files in about a week.

Great Tom.
Thanks for designing the Hobo for us retreads.
-
Thanks Tom
-
You guys will be surprised at how well the Hobo flies. I need to get more time on mine.
-
I sure that some people have not seen a "Hobo" Here are some pictures of me with the original airplane. The was to have an airplane that is easy to build and does not have the vibration problems that are inherent to profiles. The "Hobo" flies great.
-
Not only do his planes look better, he is handsomer. H^^
-
Doc,
The camera almost broke when it saw me.
-
Any plans to do an electric version? H^^
-
Now how about giving him the rights to the Roadrunner".
-
This is good news. Hopefully Walter will get back to good health so he can begin to ship kits again.
-
Walter is working with his doctors to assure a good future.
John,
Someone started an electric version of the Hobo, but I have not heard any more. The Hobo should be easily converted. Leave out the motor mounds and make a new front former. and make a top battery hatch. I hope that someone does the conversion and takes pictures.

Are plans available anywhere? From reading this thread it sounds like it may be quite a long time until kits come around.
-
The Hobo was published in the August 2012 issue of Model Aviation. Plan #1065 sells for $19 plus shipping from the good old AMA.

I think they still sell a second set at half price which I use for making templates. But my plans came from Tom when he first came up with the design. Great flying plane with a LA .46 for power. H^^
