I like what Dick Pacini has done with his copy of Byron Barker's paint stand. Anyway I have taken pictures of the stand I got from Jim Ticky while at VSC one year. Best money I ever paid. Three bolts and it's ready to go.
Now for the details. All three legs are 1 inch square tubing. The vertical tube is short to make room for the cross piece, it measures 38 5/8 inches. Bottom cross piece with two holes is 40 inches. And the base is 40 inches minus the thickness of the plate. Both plates are 1/8 X 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 steel. The collars at the top of the vertical piece are 1 1/4 OD with 3/4 ID measurements. One collar has a set screw and the other one a thumb screw.
But, you know I still have my 2 X 4 drilled for the holder for the plane that I clamp to the step ladder or table once in a while.
