Hi guys it's great to be back.
« on: August 06, 2009, 03:37:05 PM »
It's been a long time since I last posted, and yes a whole bunch has changed in my life.  Back in December of last year I was handed my walking papers after 40+ years, I won't lie it was painful at first.  BUT after a few weeks I made the decision that if it was at all possible now was the time to retire.  Along the way I met the love of my life and I am getting ready to get married, Uncle Mikey you were right man you were right.  After a year and a half my house finally sold and I actually made a few buck.

So that takes me up to date, Larry Renger and I are back flying and I have even started judging.  I still don't have a place to build, but I have several planes in flying condition and I just received a Hanger-9 PT-19.  It's more for my son than me, we haven't flown together since he dumped my Stuka Stunt.  I know he felt bad but I miss him at the field, so I got the PT-19 and will invite out to fly.

Since I last posted I took the Humongous and stripped the covering off and recovered it with Lite Span.  I took 8Oz's. out of the plane just by recovering it.  Big Red finally has the engine issues resolved, so I can't blame the plane anymore for the quality of my flying.  Like the guy said the way to Broadway is practice, practice, practice.  Hopefully in just a few weeks I will have a building area set up and I can start through the stack of kits I have.

Anyway things are look good and it's great to be back.

Hey Andy; Glad you are back and things are going well for you. Anybody that has been around a while knows how life can get in the way every so often. Sure nice when its over. All the best to you, and go fly something.

Hi Andy. Welcome back and congratulations. I enjoyed the conversation with you and Larry R. on Keith's patio during VSC. What was that John Lennon said about life is what happens to you while you're busy planning for something else.... I think that's what makes it sweet.

Hi Andy,  hey...now that you're back are you going to go to VSC next March and do the coffee drinking trick on your tee-shirt again?  This time I'll give you a scoresheet!

Last year at VSC, the good, the bad and the oh so very ugly.  Dave, you and your dad were such a great treat to get to know.  I too really enjoyed the conversation on the patio.  Now for the bad, well let's just say nobody is in any danger of me of me taking a trophy away from you.  Having said that I still love VSC, and as of now I see the Larry Renger/Andy Borgogna road show heading East come March.  As for the ugly, thanks Bill for reminding me of the famous COFFEE incident.  For thoughts of you who were not at last years VSC, I was holding a cup of coffee and I pulled a stunt right our of a Three Stooges movie.  Let us just say I managed to pour a cup of coffee on my left shoulder.  Dumb, I mean really dumb....

Thanks guys it is truly great to be back.

Andy
P.S. Dave say hello to your dad for me, he may not remember me but believe me I sure remember him. :)

Andy it is great to hear your back and I didn't even know you was gone.  I too hope to be at VSC next year.  It depends on how things go between now and then.  By the way, will you have your new squeeze with you so Joe G. can teach her how to fly?  Anyway, take care,  DOC Holliday

Hey Doc good to hear from you.  VSC would no be the same without you and your little friend.  Hope you make it, regarding Jackie I have asked her and she seem quite interested.  A lot depends on her job situation, being a kept man requires her to bring in some money.  My pension should kick in any day now and hopefully by then she will have some vacation time and we can both go.  I may have to tell Larry he will need to get his own room next year.

Joe Gilbert you out there bud, I really look forward to seeing you and your wife next year at VSC.  To all that have not been to VSC, it's the people not the planes that make it a great week.
