I will try and push some on the site when I get home from work. It has been non stop since Monday and have not been able to upload any. I was going to burn a CD and send it to James Mills but ……….. NO CDS!!!! So another stop after work!

In the meantime, is there a quick and dirty way to insert the pictures into this thread?

It was good to be back out at Buder Park, it had been ten years, great to see all the old timers I used to fly with and it was great to meet with Ted for breakfast.

Ted was my mentor, the guy that taught me the pattern and taught me discipline in building and flying, I was 13 when I met Ted and he has not aged at all!!! Well, maybe a little!  LL~

I too have been awaiting the pictures and results of the Ice-O-Lated.  My camera was left in the shop or bedroom.  Will have to find it.  DOC Holliday

I mailed a CD disc to Bill Marvel Tuesday and so I am sure he will post some Pictures ASAP. We had a good turn out and some calm winds too.

Here are a few of the pictures I took, I only knew a few of the folks flying so I do not have any captions. I will burn and send the CD out as soon as I pick up some blanks.

That's Doc Holiday from Oklahoma with his grandson, James.  Doc told us James can hang on to the plane just fine.  Doc hangs on to James' shoulder to keep him in the center of the circle.  He tends to wander. (Ever happen to you?  Happened to me!)  James and his sister, Emerald, both fought lots of wind and cold getting Officials.  Emmy left her gloves off because she didn't want the handle to slip.  It ain't ever easy!!!

Great kids... in the circle and off.

Yup, gotta love the kids when they fly....it's entertainment at it's finest. I wish I could find the movie of my youngest ever pilot and son Charlie, when he let the "Crow Killer"[a black S1A Ringmaster painted like a big black Raven] get inside the circle on him....he was hollerin at that plane like all get-out, and flyin his little heart out.  I coulda cinched the Funniest Home Videos prize with that movie! I was impressed with the amount of kids there and people in general coming out to fly in the cold.

I think the purple one was coming in dead stick and there is another plane that was electric, very impressive

Hello John,

Being a “city” boy I knew about the Ford tractors but not what the numbers meant. When I started looking for tractors I found a whole culture out there not unlike the Control Line world. I had no idea that there was such a thing as a Ferguson tractor. The tractor in the picture is a 1954 Ferguson TO-30 (my wife is also a 1954 Ferguson) the Fergusons tractors had a little more horse power as the engines are OHV with the distributor on the side of the block instead of the front. It is a very reliable tractor, it started when we had the 10 degree weather and just keeps cranking along. You can tell a Ferguson from a Ford right away by the all grey paint job.

I'm givin it the old one eye exam.....now that I've blown it up, I can see the differences.....but to an untrained eye, they look like twins....If it wad'n rainin I'd take a pic of ours...and my "Alice B" the other tractor is across the 40...I need to drag it home and take it in half. If I can find a crank shaft, I'm gonna restore it, paint and all....and use it the rest of my days. May hafta sell the Alice to get enough money to fix the Diesel.

Bill, shame on you for as long as you have known me.  I am from Shawnee Ks.  The grand kids are cousins,  James William McClung who lives with me with his mom and sister.  Emerald Skye Dennison is my oldest daughter's child that lives in Olathe KS.  Also you could have deleted the photo of the old fat man.  But, I guess with long john's and sweat shirts doubled up might make a person look fatter than normal.  Thanks for the pics,  DOC Holliday

Mea culpa, Doc!  I knew that!  Don't know why my fingers typed OK instead of KS.  Oops!

Not sure I knew the kids were cousins, not brother & sister.  I didn't get it wrong about being "good kids"!  Anyone would be proud to have kids so polite and well behaved as James and Emerald.

And for your information I have deleted all of the "old fat man" pictures posted (Unfortunately, all of the "Old fat man" pictures I deleted were of me!!!!)  ~> ~> I couldn't find any "Old Fat Man" pictures of you!  Sorry. #^ #^

Thanks Bill,  being a parent and grand parent yourself, you know kids can be angels and monsters when they want.  I was very proud of both that day.  DOC Holliday

I took a lot of pictures and sent them to James Mills, there are a lot of pictures of planes but I wanted to push some pictures of the people out there too, it was pretty cold and was amazing to see how many people showed up. The kids were great, they are the future of the hobby. I wish I could have talked to more people out there, I hope to get out to a few more contests this year.

Michael,

Thanks for the pictures you posted - they are appreciated.

Sorry I did not find you and introduce myself.  I was looking forward to meeting you.  Between my judging duties and my brief Advanced flight with flameout on the inverted leg of the reverse wingover I just did not have any "free" time.  I even missed the maiden flight of Sparky's V8!

Here's hoping that those who I saw with cameras help to document the first contest of 2009 here on Stunt Hangar!
Thanks,

Sorry I did not get to stick around to meet you Steve, I have a lot of good things about you including your computer skills. Hopefully I will be able to make it back to Buder Park soon. Are there still Thursday evening fun flies there?

I wish I could have seen your plane fly Bob, I heard the corners are awesome!

I just discovered SS Hobbies, been looking at something to start with, a profile for a quick build, we will see what happens…………
