Many years ago, my wife got me for my birthday a kit of the Tom Dixon version of the AVANTI. Also a light Double Star .60. Few days ago, at the bottom of the kit pile I pulled the Avanti out, opened it and there was an engine I had forgot about.  New, in the box, unmolested, no finger prints engine.... y1

I guess I should build the kit just to try out that engine.... y1
If my wife gave me a fine kit like that and an engine (which would be a cold day in Hell) and I didn't build it, the California fires would look like a cigarette lighter compared to her rage.  You are a lucky man.

About how long ago did you get the set as a present?  I find stuff I forgot I had all the time, but nothing like a kit and a .60 Russian engine!! That must be one heck of a kit pile! My kit pile is in my attack over the garage, and sometimes I think I hear the joists creaking!

Sounds like you have a "safe place" like I have in my garage where you can put things. We know for sure that the place is "safe" because once we put something there we can not find it for a number of years.

I have noticed that this amazing phenomena seems to be more prevalent as I get older. Do not understand why that is LL~ LL~ LL~ but it is comforting to know that other folks I know experience similar things.

Every spring we have salesmen coming through the neighborhood offering to spray your lawn for ants and spiders.  Basically, if you let them spray, it kills about everything, except termites.  And what keeps termites (somewhat) in check?  Ants!
