How Thin is Your E Prop
« on: March 28, 2015, 07:09:49 PM »
Ordered some 10-6 three blade props from China for my EBanshee 4 for $5.50. It said they were for electric flight which makes me think airplane but I'm pretty sure these are for a quad copter, they are thin. Looking to spin them about 9600 rpm. Root is .130" mid prop is .095" and tip is .050". Looks like a nice prop if it were CF but it's even too thin to mold. I guess I could spin it up and listen for tip flutter. Just wondering if anyone has used something that thin.

that doesn't sound too thin for the rpm to but what do I know.  I did run some wood props with blades that thin much faster with no thrown blades.  The root on wood props has to be thicker due to the way they are made, so I just thinned then from mid blade to tip, which started out over .06 and ended up just under .04in.
