A great time was passed this weekend in Baton Rouge. A special thanks to all the contestants who came from all over to attend the contest. A special thanks to Mr. John Hill who returned the Pilots Choice  award so that it could be given to Jim Lynch, the judging of this award ended in a tie and since John voted for Jims plane he thought that it should be his. Well come to find out Jim voted for Johns entry  sportsmanship at its finest in my opinion. I think that Doug has all the results and will be posting them later.

Thanks, I just saw that.

I would like to know what airplanes were flown.  Only a few CDs include that in their reports.

Tom, I believe Steve Kocher and his Dad, Fred, will post pic.'s later. I will later give a run down on equipment used as best I can. Our guys were very busy and I really forgot to take notes on what the guys were using. I appreciate the hard work of all our volunteers and some of the fliers who volunteered to judge. Special thanks to Brent Rogillio(CD-JUDGE-everything-pull test), Nick Iacussa(judge-set-up-pull test, John Blanchard(Set-up-flier-food-runner-pull-test), Charles Meeks-(Runner-flier-set-up)-He is a new flier I just met-worked his tail off running scores and helping us, Merle Pettigrew, Cathy Causey-Tab.-food, Kathleen Patterson-TAB-Registration, Maggie Blanchard( Raffle-set-up), Gil Causey(judge),Steve Millet(judge-tear down), Fliers that judged were: Andy Stokey, John Hill, Dale Gleason, Frank Williams.
We had a total of 6 events with 2 events being skill(B,I,A,E). Without the dedicated help of the people mentioned above this contest would have been a mess. Their efforts made it a very smooth operation. We had special awards given and also a unique incident all of which are in the Contest Results section of this forum.
We had several new contestants for the first time in Baton Rouge: Mike and Ron Waldron(Dad)- Port Richey, FL., Jim and Jo Ann Lynch-Memphis, TN, Don and Laura Shackleton-Atoka, TN., Courtney Tanner and Damarisse- El Dorado, AR. Jim Svitko-Ft.Worth,TX., Charles Meeks-Abita Springs, LA., Paul Taylor- TN.?, We really enjoyed their company. Don Shackleton and Courtney Tanner looked very smooth and polished going through the beginner pattern- I believe they are going to be very good pattern fliers.

Doug, I believe you forgot to mention Mr. Richard Stubblefield, Houston, TX. I had the pleasure and honor to fly with, visit and talk to one of the greatest combat pilots in the world...IMHO. (He flies stunt pretty darn good also) Richard must of thought I was "interviewing him," I couldn't help it...I was full of questions. To the world outside of model aviation, Richard would be just another guy on the street...But! To me he is a celebrity, right up there with Bob Gieseke and others too numerous to name. He spoke "highly" of some folks named Howard, Phil, George and someone named Don.  ;) I look forward to flying with Mr. Stubblefield in the future.
The "Rouge" contest was run like a well oiled machine. The "Wind Gods" were kind to me on my second flight as were the judges. Thanks to all for a great meet, great food and some real good competition. Hope to see you all in November at the El Dorado meet...wait to you see our new circle.

Even though I did not fly, it was great just seeing everyone again this year and great job to all who worked to make this contest a great success.

The scores were posted in easy to read form in the events section Monday night. Would have posted the scoreboard here, but they are on the wife's phone and she's gone. Yes Norm, Stubblefield is quite a character. We had combat contests in Baton Rouge in the early 80's and I remember Richard being very competitive and usually winning his matches. Another combat flier who was quite competitive was Don Cranfill who is now a very good pattern flier. Richard simply loves to compete. Since there are less and less combat matches to attend he decided to try Stunt too since we have a number of contests in his district. He ain't too bad either!

I found a few minutes to post photos from the contest.  These are pictures that my dad and I took.  My dad took care of the photo compression so that I could post them.  Enjoy.
