Thank you Darrell for taking that job on. I appreciate your support of our event.

I am assuming you have Mark Overmeir as your head judge. If not, get ahold of him quickly. One if the head judges jobs is to find judges. He should be able to help.

If you have any administrative questions, I could help.

Darrell, Last time I saw you was early 90's at Seattle contests.  As I recall, you were serving on the Nimitz and building out of a ministorage.  I wish you success on this noble project.

It's the wooden one by Corel I bough from Les McDonald @ Orange Blossom nearly 20 years ago.
The planking on the hull, the copper plates (over 3000 of them) of course didn't come with the kit.

I think I would be safe in saying that he is only concerned with stunt portion as the other SIG's will have their CD/ED.     If I knew for certain I would be there I would take some thing on to help.  But, then the racing and carrier guys would think I have defected.  Again I've had my turn with carrier and racing.

Just stunt?ty

Only the CLPA portion, although the CD test mostly concerns RC and Safety there were only one question each that was specific to CL & FF.
It's a 20 question test and its open book similar to my time as a quality inspector in the Navy. So anyone can take it online.

Ok Gang,
Here is the motel situation
First the bad news There is no room at the Comfort Inn Or the Fairfield. They were already booked for our dates well before I was able to do anything.
So this is what I have All at the AMA/Pampa rate. I blocked ten rooms Half single bed Half double bed @ each motel on the scheduled dates with one exception.

Hampton Inn Of Muncie. PH 765.288.8500
Rates are 115 per night But there is a catch.
The dates are only for July 8-13 so checkout is Friday morning. But lets face facts the majority doesn't stay the whole week anyway.
And this is a better rate because of the earlier checkout day.

Holiday Inn express and suites PH 765.289.4678
125 per night The rooms have to be reserved by 6/01/18 or the regular rates will apply.

Baymont Inn Muncie 765.284.4200
This is probably the "official" PAMPA motel
They don't block rooms
Rates are 74 Single 84 Double
So reserve these rooms NOW!

Super 8 Muncie 765.286.4333
Rates 55 Single 65 Double
Call in by June 8 for this rate
But there are still rooms available even if the blocked ones are taken
But ask for this rate anyway.

Motel Update As of 1.29.2018
Days Inn has a AMA rate of 54 Dollars per night
I just called and spoke to the manager blocking rooms are not necessary
and rooms are available. Just call and ask for the AMA rate.

Darrell,

I know you have seen all this on an email, but I want everyone to be able to see. it here.

I will run the CL Beginner Stunt contest.  At least for now, I assume it will be on Sunday July 8th.  As always, I can use a lot of help.  I need volunteers to run it.

We always have control Line Stunt items (Models, Kits, Engines and much more) to give to the Beginners.  Those items are all donated by fellow Control Line Stunt Fliers.  So, If you have any items the Beginners can use to improve in the hobby, please contact me.

Thanks, Mike Stinson

« Reply #33 on: April 18, 2018, 09:02:29 AM »
I just talked to Yolanda Jones @ AMA and I can verify this because I checked afterwards. The on-line site has the correct dates for Open and Advanced. So every one that haven't registered on line yet may do so. Remember the unofficial events has a separate link to click on to enter those events.

I still need at least 6 more Judges. I will finish reaching out to last years judges about wanting to do this again. After that I will reach out to everyone else. I need all the names Including 3 extras Before the end of this month so I can get everyone their shirts and turn in the order That includes Tabulators, Pit bosses, Pull testers and appearance judges. Judges for the unofficial events that are NOT already involved with the official events. The same for their Pit bosses/pull testers and tabulators
Just as a reminder Please PM me your shirt size.

This is a copy of the e-mail I got from the Holiday Inn Express. There has been no rooms reserved as of a few days ago.

This email is a reminder for the Pampa Group block that is scheduled from 07/08 - 07/14. The cutoff date for the group is fast approaching 06/01/2018 and as of now no rooms has been reserved in the block.

Please feel free to call the hotel directly to secure reservations at 765-289-4678, your party can mention the group name “PAMPA Group” or group code “PAM” with the dates mentioned above.

Later,
Darrell.

Not unusual to be in Muncie for any of the Nationals and mention model airplane nationals and no one knows or knew about them until you mention it.
