Help! I must need counseling!
« on: November 25, 2007, 02:57:28 PM »
I am now in panic mode - I just finished a couple of hours in the shop and actually ENJOYED SANDING!!!   ~^ Someone help me! :P
I'm applying the fillets to the new Ephesian twin boomer and the beast is coming along so well that even this terrible step was a joy today.  (I'm one of the guys who measures his sandpaper use by the pound instead of the number of sheets due to my profession and I normally hate sanding.   HB~> mw~)
The reason I decided to post this was to encourage all of us to have a great building season and find the rewards of a great sport/hobby in each step! HH%% (PE**)
Blessings,
Will

I can appreciate that Will. when its going well, and you have the "fever" even the most dreaded task can be rewarding. I spent most of my last 3 days working on the bf 109 project, ok well really mostly on the cockpit. Turned out ok,,,,, I think I will let it live. at worst I have that pesky pilot trapped so he cant escape! Posted a couple picts on my 109 thread
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Will,

Please get your rear end over to Virginia ASAP. My new Alouette needs sanding and it looks like you are the man for the job.  VD~ VD~ VD~

As a child, I thought 100 grit was "fine". As a teenager and through my RC days, 320 grit was "fine".

Now I think 600 grit is "coarse". AAARRRRGH!!! What happened?  n~ n~

Will, a "wee dram" of good scotch and a good night's sleep should get you back on track.  Don't put it off; though, you could have the beginnings of something that could lead to more devastating psychological trauma.  If you let yourself get to the point of enjoying doing dishes, you'll be beyond hope.   Glen

Mark - by all means let the 109 live!  It looks like a great project and I like your process for the panel, thanks for the tip. y1

Ron - send the Alouette ASAP and I'll see if the trauma lasts until it gets here.  (Not that I expect to allow that!)   n1

Glen - not to worry, I simply dropped and broke a dish or two a long time ago and the wife ran me out of the kitchen for good!  (The same approach works for getting out of painting walls, just be very sloppy right away.  She'll ban you from paint brushes.)  Mine hasn't caught on yet that I paint models in a much neater manner!   Sssssssssssshhh!   H^^
