OS 25 FP Venturi
« on: July 29, 2010, 06:40:19 PM »
I have what appears to be an older OS 25 FP R/C. Id like to convert it to C/L and eliminate the carb. The OS venturi part #22312000 has a outside diameter of 9.8mm while the inside diameter of the crankcase is 8.7 mm. Does anyone know where and what part number to ask for to get a proper fitting venturi?

That's the proper fitting venturi.

That is the right PN.
I checked one I have, Venturi OD is 9.96mm, cranckcase ID is 10.0mm.
Fits perfect.

As i said in the first line, I have what appears to be an older OS 25 FP. The crankcase ID on mine is not the reported 10.0 mm but instead the crankcased ID on mine is 8.7.

You must have something other than an FP.  I have several versions and they all have "FP" cast into the case, so if you had one there would be no question about it..

The OS part # 22312000 as you descirbe has an outside diameter of just less than 10mm is indeed for the OS 25 FP.

The diameter for the venturi barrel on the crankcase for the  OS 25 FP is basically that same less than 10mm diameter.

The diameter for the venturi barrel on te crankcase for the OS 25 Max is that same diameter as are the venturies that fit the OS 25 Max.  (The OS 25 Max is like a small version of the OS 35 S.  I have several vintages of both 25 engines engines and they all check the same.)

The diameter of the OS 15 FP does not match your crankcase either.  Suggest you follow Doc Holliday's recommendation to contact Jim Lee and talk to him about what you need.  Also make sure the cracase of your engine really says OS 25 FP.  Whatever the dimensions, Jim Lee can help you.
