Heat wave !!!! Wahoo !!!!
« on: January 22, 2010, 09:31:08 PM »
The weather forcast for today was 55 and over cast. So last night I threw Ole Yeller in the back of truck with my stuff. And other then being around 50 degrees by the time I got to the field, it was nice. Over cast and lite winds.
Snook out an hour early and headed to the field. As I got there I thought it would have been nice to have a flying buddy. As I finished fueling up I put my on ear blue toof and called Chris Sterner. We chatted and then I got a one flip start on the FP 20, and headed to the handle. I talked with Chris as I punched holes in the sky with the SkyRay.
First run was a little lean, next two flights were spot on. I know the weather is going to turn to rain and wind in the next few months. So I am going to jump at every nice day the Good Lord gives me.

Had fun, Thanks for bringing me along for the ride, buddy.
Wish I was there.
Did it run a little leaner with a few clicks back ?

Hey Chris,
It was great to take you flying with me yesterday!
The next two flights were real nice. I did not fly this plane much last season. Last winter I messed around with making the elev/stab larger to see if that made the plane fly better. I think it did or maybe, just maybe my pilot skills have improved a little. LL~

Next time you will have to ride shotgun! HH%%

A couple of us put up some flights the past two Sundays and although it was sunny and near 50 today the stiff north breeze made it a bit uncomfortable.  Last Sunday was warmer and one member got in some good flights on his new ARF Nobler but one wheel hub threw off the tire on the last flight.

I know last time I was in B-Town, I saw all 4 seasons in a week. Started cold and frosty and by the end of the week it was summer time!

I was told if you don't like the weather in Portland, just way 15 minutes.

Today it is 20+ mph winds and cold. Low 40's. North wind makes it feel colder. Brrrrrrrrr And the ground is soggy from all the rain we had the past three days.
I knew the weather would turn to crap.

So you guys/gals sent the weather my way.  Temps back in the 20's with high's in the 30's.  And someone says four seasons in a couple of days.  One day while working the riding stables, went to work in my winter coat.  After getting there we had freezing rain with snow, temps in the 30's.  Then the temps went up and we got rain for a few minutes, then the sun came out for shirt sleeve weather.  Have not seen another day like that since.

How's that heatwave now, Rootbeard? We're just pluggin' along in the 50's range, tho it is a little too moist to fly today.  LL~ Steve

We got a ice storm Friday and lost power for 16 hrs. Got down in the 20's. Thank goodness we put in gas logs after the ice storm of 94. Trees are down due to heavy ice, school was closed this past Friday and Sunday shcool was cancled this morning. We are just having one morning service, so I better get to church early or I will have to sit on the front row. LL~

See I told you the weater would turn cold. HB~>

Actually wouldn't be bad today. 46 degrees, no rain and some sun breaks. Problem is, wind is from the SW at 15-20mph. Sigh...
