Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Hawker Sea Fury was ever kitted?
Thanks

Make a deal with Al Rabe to kit his and you'll see a lot of them. I'd pay 250 bucks one. Easy.

Hi Mike,
AFAIK, the Sea Fury has never been kitted as a C/L stunter. And Al's is the ultimate example of a very scale looking full stunt machine.
Top Flite does offer a stand off scale Sea Fury for R/C.

Hi Chris and Hi Bill
Thanks for your responses. I was not inquiring for the purposes of doing a kit run of the design I was wanting to build one for myself if there was a kit of it or if anyone knew where I could get plans so I could build one.
Thanks for your help

Hmmm, put a Brodak/Pat Spitfire wing on a Brodak/Pat Jonston Bearcat fuselage and tail feathers, paint Sea-Furyish. It could work (but patience would be a better idea). 8)

Patience is a virtue.. y1 y1 #^ #^

The one you want is the Al Rabe version for sure. You need to sweet-talk Al to get plans.

I appreciate the thought Chris but I doubt if I will put out another kit until next year. I have the YAK9 D coming out this summer and then I think I am going to take some time to catch up on some building projects of mine. Al Rabe and I have swapped some e mails about the Sea Fury and I ordered the disk from Al on building it. I want to build a prototype of it for myself before I even think about doing a kit and of course that would be something that Al would have to approve and we have not even discussed at this point...

I'd take a kit if you ever did one. cool looking plane!

This may or may not be appropo....I had the unenviable task of moving John Callentine's Rabe Mustang up the line in the pulltest pits. I just didn't want to mess up in any way, this is a gorgeous plane, I don't know if Al has ever seen it, but it is just unbelievable.
Anyway, I decided to lift it from beneath the fuselage in the wing center section between the "shock gear".
It has to be filled with helium. Just unbelievable! I don't know what it weighs, but it is light beyond anything that size and with that gorgeous of finish.
I had talked with John at appearance judging the day before about his plane and he mentioned he would like to build Al's Sea Fury. If anyone on the planet can build the perfect tribute to it, it is John Callentine.
And he flies it guite well, too, I'd have second thoughts about tooling around with a plane like that in less than ideal conditions.
