Thanks to all my fellow Veterans and a big thanks to all of the sometimes overlooked folks working for civilian contractors, the DOD, and volunteer organizations, that work hard and make sacrifices to help insure the safety and well being of our military
Regards,

Another GREAT Veterans' Day at Shahl's Museum.  The go-to place in Macomb County.

Old movies of Bob Hope with Rachel Welsh.  Good viewing.

I love my wife, country, county and Stahl's Museum.

Packard.  The product of the long-abandoned factory in Detroit.  Designed by Albert Kahn, it's a hard building to take down.

Stahl's hosts a BIG Armistice (Veterans') Day event every year.  This (3rd) event was somewhat downsided by a Jay Leno event last night. Watch for it on his TV show.

I wonder if I can claim a family rate on the entry fee to Stahl's Museum? Stahl was my mother's maiden name. We have documentation on the (few) relatives that came over in the late 1800's, but maybe some came later...or earlier...that we don't know of. Packards are cool. I once rode in a '42 Packard Limo that had been the Governor of California's official ride. About 3' of foot room in the back seat, maybe more. I was a Sophomore in HS, Edwards AFB, CA.   D>K Steve

The museum is only open on Tuesday and Saturday.   I just go once a year for his Veteran's Day open house.

I really missed the boat this week.  He had a big-bucks veterans fund-raiser starring Jay Leno Wednesday night.  I would have paid whatever it cost.  i heard that he had west coast & international guests.

The car is a Tatra, a Czechoslovakian high performance luxury sedan.
Only 3,000 were build over a 12-year span.
The Tatra was said be prized possession of Nazi occupiers who would commandeer a Tatra, then crash by spinning out in a high speed turn.
Rear engine V8's are squirrely.
