Have I made this too hard?
« on: June 12, 2006, 12:27:47 PM »
Have I made it to hard to navigate the forum? It seems that people still would rather post on SSW than here even though they are members here? What gives. Let me know so I can help solve the problem.

I agreee it's not broke. There will always be those of us that like to frequent both sites. But for the serious builder and even the beginner this is the place to be.

This site is actually easier to post on than SSW.  I particularly need the spell check.  Some folks ask the same question of different forums.  No problem for me.  I read and post both places, and others, as seems appropriate.  I wouldn't change a thing here.

I like the way this works....but would like to be able to add more pics and also insert them in between text.....kinda like Al Rabe does on SSW......can that be done here?

other then that....the quality of the posts here is far superior to SSW and like other say above, you dont get all the BS posts about unrelated stuff here

You mean like this?

You can add up to 10 photos per post. You first add 2 the hit submit and then re-enter and add 2 more and so on.

other then that....the quality of the posts here is far superior to SSW and like other say above, you don't get all the BS posts about unrelated stuff here

to add an image just put the tag and then add the location between them. [image] http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=931.0;id=870;image (/Image) Like this only without parentheses

Then the image will appear as an image and not a link.

Please take this as it is intended. You also post on SSW so why do you find problems with others who are doing the same thing. Man does not live by bread alone... variety is the spice of life and any other trite sayings that comes to mind.

Nothing wrong with your site but remember that SSW has been around a lot longer and has a bigger following. Just the way it is.

Keep up the good work and eventually you will prevail... just continue to keep PAMPA out of the equation as you have so far been able to do.

This is the site that has it all, period.  My take is that many post the same info and questions on more than one site.

Hey Robert
Just a suggestion, but why are you still posting on SSW when you have your own site?  Seems to me that you are shooting yourself in the foot by posting over there.
As a point, you don't see Len posting over here.
As for me I like both sites.  Give it time and you will be World Class.

Like I said...  Just a suggestion

If you see my post on SSW I answer no questions. I just post pictures with the link to this site. Not a good Idea? It's a great idea. I am not wondering why people post over there (not at all) I am wondering why I get messages over there asking me questions that should be asked here. You must know the whole story!

This site has a much different "flavor" that any of the others.  The vast majority of traffic here is strictly about C/L stunt.  Building, flying, engines, etc., whereas the others have much more "non-stunt" traffic.

As to your question about asking for answers here, I do not have a clue as to why anyone would NOT ask it here.  Looking at the member base, the very best knowledge about any aspect of the event is contained in our membership.

Without causing hard feelings with anyone, I would make one observaton from all the years I have been going to online forums.  Some of them contain "instant experts".  People who may never have actually built a stunt plane or flown in a contest.  These peopple sometimes will answer questions as if they are knowledgeable about everything.   When, in fact,  they are simply perpetuating bad information.

I do not see that here.

This is the amount of traffic you would have on the other site if you eliminated the crap.  This site is for people like myself who are into model airplanes.  What would be nice is if everytime someone posted a picture on their thread or response, a picture icon would be inserted next to it to let us know.

Once I start building, my whole project will be posted on this site.

I will post the whole Rotec radial engine picture library on this site shortly. You will like it-trust me.

I asked you what was written on the bottom of your wing on SSW simply because that was where I was at the time.

I was curious because I couldn't read the reflected words. If you want the questions only asked here and not on SSW you will probably have to state it as a written request or not post them over there anymore.

 Question:
When responding within a post, can you add a response in line right after the intended recipients response (like SSW) somehow, or do you always have to just put it at the end of the responses?

This is my first post here but I've been a member for over a week. I've learned more on this forum than all the others put together. I'm going to need some advice and will post it here. Because I feel I will get strait a answers and not be told I'm wrong for something. Thanks for a great information filled forum. I believe that  forums should be informative or political but not both. Thanks Mike

Robert,

Leave it alone! It works well. I come here pretty much daily. I probably post more on SSW because whenever I come here, questions have already be answered by experts. It's a contest to see who gets in first.  :)

Seriously, it works fine and I like it.

I love this site. NO POLOTICS. No one pisses me off. (OF course getting pissed off is one of the great motivators in my life, trying to overcome that though, with the help of this forum...)  #^ Liking it. Keep it up. Smack their little fingers...  n1 I am devoted to Ultra Hobbies because there are a gang of people who agreee with me (sometimes.) But Stunthanger's got the right idea, keep it about building and flying. I'd post here more often. But you have to know what you're talking about when you post here. That puts a limit on my posts right there. Makes me cautious about showing my ignorance... Takes time to disguise how... you know.

Just for your info....

I just rebuilt my computer including essentialy wiping my hard drive. That means that I have needed to rebuild my Bookmarks files.

When I wanted to add in your site, I did a search using Google but found that your site does not come up with the searche results. Furthermore, SH is not currently listed on any of the common internet CL site lists.

Perhaps a few requests to those site owners would yeild some added listings and new members.

Remember.... If they can't find you, they won't show up!

MSN Search if you type in control line stunt it is first on the list. It take time for the search engines to populate.
